Jetlines contracts Jeppesen for navigation charts, manuals before it has any pilots!

The yet to get off the ground Canadian ultra-low-cost airline Jetlines has confirmed it has signed a 7-year agreement with Jeppesen to supply the Enroute, Approach Navigation Charts and Airway Manuals. The agreement means that information will be delivered to each pilot’s Electronic Flight Bags digitally by Jeppesen FliteDeck Pro, the industry’s leading navigation app. Jeppesen is a market leader and has been providing accurate navigation information for more than 80 years.

The firm says it has already started 'talent-based hiring assessments' for potential pilots, flight attendants and other leadership positions at the beginning of September. Yet the firm has had to issue more variable voting shares in order to settle debts to third parties.

Canada's Jetlines insists SmartLynx funding is still proceeding.

Canada Jetlines, the firm that hopes to become an ultra-low-cost-carrier has issued another press release regarding its ongoing financing issues which still seem far from settled.  The firm insists that the previously announced $7.5 million financings from SmartLynx is still proceeding. Jetlines and SmartLynx agreed to restructure the financing such that it will be completed by way of a convertible debenture instead of subscription receipts. At the start of the year, Jetlines had debts of over $20 million.

On December 11, 2014, the firm signed a massive purchase agreement with Boeing to acquire up
to twenty-one Boeing 737 Max aircraft which were scheduled for delivery from 2023. The deal was for five initial aircraft, with purchase rights for a further sixteen aircraft.  The Boeing Agreement contained a clause that stated that if Jetlines entered into an agreement to operate or purchase non-Boeing aircraft, the full 1% deposit -less any previous payments for all aircraft would be due and payable immediately.

Canada Jetlines to launch in the middle of December this year with bland new look

Canada Jetlines has revealed a brand new brand identity as it gears up for an official commercial launch date for December 17, 2019.

Gone are the nice colours, the clean and unique titles to be replaced by bland black and white hard type and claims to have introduced a cheeky, rebellious identity system, as well as a brand promise anchored in the unapologetic and honest truth: “Flying sucks less when you pay less”. As the firm aims to offer the lowest airfares in Canada, that brand promise doesn't seem to bode well for a successful future. It seems to be saying that it knows its product sucks.
