EL AL Airlines and SKY express tie up.


New interconnection cooperation for SKY express with the Israeli airline EL AL Airlines, this cooperation offers an even more strategic global destination, as it provides the possibility of booking a single ticket in the network of both airlines.

EL AL Airlines operates flights worldwide and its headquarters are located at Tel Aviv Ben Gurion International Airport. Its fleet consists of 45 aircrafts type Boeing 737-800, 737-900ER,  777-200ER, and 787-9. Respectively, SKY express operates in important European countries and serves 34 Greek destinations.

The alliance with EL AL is added to SKY express' interconnection deals with American Airlines, Air Serbia, Qatar Airways, Air France, KLM, Middle East Airlines, Cyprus Airways, Condor and Dohop. The company that changed the landscape in the country's aviation continues its dynamic international development, further strengthening its position in the international market.

SKY express joins ‘Worldwide by easyJet’ connections service, opening up more than 20 new Greek destinations for easyJet customers

Europe’s leading airline easyJet and Crete-based airline SKY express have announced that through ‘Worldwide by easyJet’ customers will now be able to connect via Athens, Thessaloniki, Corfu, Zakynthos, Preveza, Kefalonia, Rhodes, Larnaca, Chania, Heraklion and Thessaloniki to over 20 new Greek destinations.

SKY express starts Athens - Brussels route

Brussels Airport welcomed the first scheduled arrival of SKY express over the weekend. The airline operated its first flight between Brussels and Athens on Sunday and will operate the route 3 times a week, until June when their A320neo will operate the route 6 times a week.

“We are very happy to welcome a new airline for this summer season. It’s a much-needed positive sign towards the market. Furthermore, Greece is one of our top destinations in the summer for our Belgian leisure market. Belgians will have more opportunities to fly to Athens and beyond to 34 destinations in Greece thanks to the arrival of SKY express.” says Arnaud Feist, CEO of Brussels Airport Company.

SKY express was founded in 2005 and is now one of the fastest-growing airline companies in Greece. It even has awards for it from the International Airport of Athens and is a member of the IOGR Group of companies, a group that boasts vast experience in the areas of tourism and aviation

SKY express to lease four Airbus A320neo aircraft from Aviation Capital Group

Aviation Capital Group, one of the giant aircraft leasing firms has entered into long-term leases with SKY express for four new Airbus A320neo aircraft. 


The first aircraft was delivered on November 6, 2020, with the second aircraft scheduled for delivery in December of this year. The remaining two aircraft are scheduled for delivery in February 2021.

“ACG is excited to have SKY express as a new customer and we are looking forward to building a long-term relationship to support the airline’s business prospects,” said Tom Baker, CEO and president of ACG.

SKY express orders four A320neo and becomes a new Airbus customer

     

                      Athens-based airline, SKY express, has placed a firm order for four A320neo aircraft, becoming a new Airbus customer. In addition, the Greek airline recently leased two A320neos from ACG Aviation Capital Group and on that occasion joined the global list of 430 Airbus operators. The airline has selected CFM-International’s Leap-1A engines to power its aircraft.

The οwner of SKY express and Head of IOGR Group of Companies, Mr Ioannis Grylos, said: “Our cooperation with Airbus, through the acquisition of six brand new Α320neo aircrafts, meets our ambition to modernize our fleet and have our company transition to a new era.
