Heading to Wuhan, China...... ?

The U.S. budget carrier Eastern Airlines has put in an application to operate a new long-haul route between New York's John F. Kennedy Airport and Wuhan, China.

Eastern Airlines has asked the U.S. Department of Transport to expedite approval of its application so that it can start sales of the flights as soon as January next year and operate the route for at least two years.

Eastern Airlines was originally founded in 1926. By 1930, Eastern grew to become one of the “Big Four” domestic airlines, where it would remain for the next several decades. As a carrier with a legacy of pioneering new routes, Eastern Airlines was brought back to the skies for its next adventure as the first scheduled carrier to be certified in the United States since 2007. Its mission is to bring back the sense of awe and wonder to air travel by providing underserved markets across the globe with direct, nonstop flights with the best value.

Eastern started out from a humble fleet of just 8 Boeing 767-200 and 767-300 aircraft, and now has 12 widebody aircraft including Boeing 777s which may operate the route should approvals be granted. There is a possibility of the carrier operating the route via Anchorage and also offering seat sales on the domestic sector.

An ideal place to stay when in Wuhan is the popular Radisson Blu Hotel Wuhan which is located conveniently close to the business districts in Wuhan China.

The hotel is an excellent choice for business and leisure and offers stylish and spacious rooms and facilities in a convenient district. Hop on the metro and be at Wangjiawan or Wuguang Districts in 20 or 35 minutes, respectively. Relax in one of the 362 rooms and suites, indulge in Hubei or Mediterranean cuisines, and enjoy the lake views and private terrace access. The hotel also boasts an elegant ballroom, perfect for conferences and unforgettable weddings. For families travelling together, the hotel also features an indoor and outdoor playground to keep children entertained.
