Iceland Express

Iceland Express offers daily low-fare flights between Reykjavík Iceland and destinations in Europe and United States.

Tickets have no length-of-stay restrictions, no Sunday rule, easy online booking and e-ticketing.  The flights are operated by Astraeus Airlines, which is part of the same group, using 737 and 757 aircraft.

Great low cost fares to Iceland, note that the initial fares shown on the website do not include tax and fees.

We’ve not flown on the route, therefore our rating is based on previous flights with Astraeus.

Our Rating 3 stars

History

From February 2003, we at Iceland Express have helped make Iceland more accessible as a tourist destination by introducing fares up to 80% cheaper than the competition.

With Iceland often featured in the top 10 of the world’s must-visit destinations, there is a clear demand for our service. According to the Icelandic Tourism Board, tourism to Iceland has risen by over 150% since 2003, due in no small part to Iceland Express.

We have experienced strong support from Icelanders too, who now travel abroad 35% more than when we first took to the air.

Iceland Express’ strategy is similar to those of low-fare airlines. There are no length-of-stay restrictions, no Sunday rule, and it’s easy to book or change bookings online. We only offer e-tickets and all flights are essentially one-way.

We've been growing steadily since 2003, and we now connect the Icelandic capital of Reykjavík to airports throughout Europe. We also offer tickets on seasonal direct flights between Copenhagen and Akureyri in Northern Iceland.

In the summer of 2010 we operated flights from Iceland to 22 destinations in Europe, and added North America to the fray with two new destinations, New York and Winnipeg in Canada.

In the summer of 2011 we will connect the Icelandic capital of Reykjavík with 18 airports in Europe and 5 airports in N-America.
