Turkish Airlines signs lease deal for 6 Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft


Yesterday the Chinese Development Banks aircraft leasing subsidiary CDB Leasing confirmed the signing of lease agreements for a series of six Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft with Turkish Airlines for its  AnadoluJet subsidiary. 

All six aircraft are part of the lessor's existing orderbook with Boeing. They will be powered by CFM International Leap-1B engines and built with the AnadolouJet-specific configuration, which is a subsidiary of Turkish Airlines. Deliveries are set to take place in 2024 and 2025.

“We’re delighted to have signed these new lease agreements with our valued customer, Turkish Airlines, for the financing of the upcoming six 737 MAX aircraft deliveries from our orderbook,” stated Jie Chen, CDB Aviation’s Chief Executive Officer. “Turkish has become a leader among airlines in undertaking sustainability-focused initiatives to modernize every stage of their flight and ground operations. These highly efficient aircraft will bring Turkish closer to achieving their ambitious sustainability goals by lessening the environmental footprint of their mainline and subsidiary carrier’s flight operations.”

Levent Konukcu, Turkish Airlines Chief Investment and Technology Officer, commented: “We are proud to collaborate with partners like CDB Aviation in our pursuit of excellence. Adding these aircraft to the AnadoluJet fleet will contribute significantly to our goals and allow us to present remarkable travel experiences to our passengers."

AnadoluJet starts flights between Istanbul's Sabiha Gökçen Airport and Bergamo Airport in Milan

AnadoluJet, the successful brand of Turkish Airlines, continues to expand its international flight network with flights from Istanbul Sabiha Gökçen to Milan Bergamo.

Istanbul Sabiha Gökçen-Milan Bergamo flights started on 16 May 2022 and will operate on a daily basis.  The service from Istanbul Sabiha Gökçen Airport is to be performed at 09:55 (local time) and; at 12.40 (local time) from Milan Bergamo Airport. With the new Bergamo flights, AnadoluJet has been increasing the number of international destinations operated to 50.

Bergamo is located in the north of Italy, at the foot of the Alps, very close to Milan, Europe's leading city in fashion, design and art; as a boutique Italian city that feels the influences of the Middle Ages, it is among the cities worth exploring in Europe and awaits its visitors for this unforgettable experience.

AnadoluJet, the low-fare arm of flag carrier Turkish Airlines, has announced a new direct flight between London Stansted and Istanbul.

AnadoluJet, the low-fare arm of flag carrier Turkish Airlines, has announced a new direct flight between London Stansted and Istanbul.

The daily service will launch on March 29 with flights departing Stansted at 11:05am and arriving at Istanbul’s Sabiha Gokcen Airport at 5.40pm. On the return leg, flights depart Istanbul at 8.45am and touch down at Stansted at 10.55am.

AnadoluJet, which has been part of the Turkish Airlines brand since 2008 offering domestic flights across the country, is expanding its international route network this year with the launch of 26 new destinations in 16 countries. The airline has a fleet of 57 aircraft and will serve a total 108 routes once all the new flights have been launched later this year. Flights to Istanbul from Stansted will be operated by a Boeing 737-800.

AnadoluJet expands its international flight network with Erbil.

AnadoluJet, the successful subsidiary of Turkish Airlines has confirmed it will be adding a new international destination to its growing flight network with the upcoming flights to Erbil (Iraq) after its previous flights to TRNC -Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus.

AnadoluJet offers its advantageous prices to the passengers flying from Gaziantep and/or Diyarbakır to Erbil. The flights from both of these two cities will start on March 21, 2019.

On the new Erbil flights of AnadoluJet, Turkish Airlines Chairman of the Board and the Executive Committee M. İlker Aycı stated; “Turkish aviation history is undergoing a significant period of change. Istanbul Airport gives courage to Turkish Airlines and its sub-brands to make strides towards their goals. I am quite happy to see that AnadoluJet, our successful sub-brand, aims further than its borders by adding Erbil to its flight network following TRNC -Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus.”

Beginning on March 21, 2019, AnadoluJet’s Gaziantep – Erbil – Gaziantep and Diyarbakır – Erbil – Diyarbakır reciprocal flights will be conducted three days in a week and tickets are being offered for the special price of $99 for the launch period.
