Ticketing specialists add more airlines to its global network

Hahn Air, the German airline and ticketing specialist already integrated ten new carriers into its global network of more than 350 air, rail and shuttle partners by the end of March of this year.

Among the new partnerships, two are new interline agreements. The flights of the Thai low-cost airline Nok Air (DD) and of Precision Air (PW) from Tanzania can now be issued on the insolvency-safe HR-169 ticket. Travel agents can find and book their flights under the airlines’ own two-letter-codes in selected GDSs even in markets where the carriers are not members of the local payment systems (BSPs).

Buddha Air to add more ATR72-500's to its fleet

The airline flies a mixed fleet of some 10 aircraft and is looking to greatly expand its route network to several Indian cities with the ATR aircraft. “We are working aggressively to increase our market share. That’s why we are making an additional investment of Rs four billion,” Birendra Bahadur Basnet, managing director of Buddha Air told myRepublica.com.

Buddha Air is hoping to serve Kolkata, Dehradun, Varanasi, and Gangtok with the new aircraft, subject to approval from the Nepalese Civil Aviation Authority.  It is understood that Buddha Air will be sourcing the aircraft from the second-hand aircraft market as brand new models would be cost prohibitive for the small airline.

Buddha Air currently employes around 850 people and offers flights from Kathmandu to Nepalgunj, Bhairahawa, Biratnagar, Bhadrapur, Bharatpur, Dhangadhi, Simara, Janakpur, Pokhara and Tumlingtar.
