Constant Aviation, joined Women in Aviation International (WAI) in advancing women in aviation careers and renewed its commitment to supporting WAI’s work. As the nation’s leading provider of quality maintenance, repair, overhaul (MRO) and aircraft-on-ground (AOG) services, the company is well-positioned to execute on the goals of Women in Aviation International, helping women to enter and build successful careers in aviation as it continues to build its workforce.

“Supporting each other, learning from each other, and fostering the next generation in aviation is crucial to the advancement of women being represented in the aviation industry,” said Roxy Vaughn, Constant Aviation’s Event Coordinator and a WAI member, who just recently attended the 33rd Annual International WAI Conference. “It was very rewarding to see our recruitment team connect with so many women at the conference and help them navigate their dream of pursuing a career in aviation.”

FAA Approves Constant Aviation Corporatewide Safety Management System

Constant Becomes Only the Second Independent MRO Nationally to Be Recognized as Having a Single, Integrated SMS
Constant Clients to Benefit from Safety Priorities and Resources Aligned Across the Entire Organization

Constant Aviation announced that the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has recognized it as having a single, corporatewide Safety Management System (SMS), making it only the second maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) so designated. Achieving FAA-Accepted Corporate SMS status means that Constant is operating under a single safety system companywide, which generally reduces safety risk and ranks it as a leader in business aviation maintenance safety.

“The improvements throughout our organization because of SMS implementation are clear, as evidenced by this latest recognition by the FAA,” said Constant Aviation Chief Executive Officer David H. Davies. “This honour underscores that we are a leader in moving from a reactive safety culture to one that is highly proactive, continuously improving and dynamically driving safety organization-wide.”

SMS is the standard for safety programs in aviation worldwide. Although SMS processes are optional for MROs such as Constant, they are seen as highly beneficial and frequently are requested by both domestic customers and foreign certificate holders.

Although the FAA only recently recognized Constant’s Corporate SMS program, the company has been operating with SMS processes since August 2018.

The FAA approval of Constant’s Corporate SMS status follows the attainment of previous safety management system landmarks during the past year:

In April 2021, Constant’s aircraft maintenance operation at Cleveland Hopkins International Airport (ICAO: KCLE) became the first independent MRO to achieve Active Conformance through the FAA’s Voluntary SMS program, and only the fourth MRO overall out of the more than 4,500 maintenance organizations nationally to achieve that designation.

High Demand for Constant Aviation AOG Services

As the business aviation industry recovers, aircraft operators are increasingly turning to Constant Aviation’s AOG (aircraft on ground) mobile response team to help return idled aircraft to service. That is because aircraft parked for even a few weeks often develop system issues that need to be addressed. Mechanical malfunctions, engine troubles, electrical problems and software glitches are common on aircraft that have been idled, and they must be addressed before passengers can be accepted.
