Oman Air has been named the most punctual airline in the Middle East and Africa for 2023, scoring an outstanding 92.5% On-Time Performance (OTP), the highest among all carriers across all categories. Topping the list of best business-class airlines is Oman Air, with an overall score of 8.39. The airline is based at Muscat International Airport and travels to over 50 destinations, including the likes of Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and Egypt. 

Oman Air scores 5/5 across the board when it comes to its aircraft’s business-class seats, making it the highest-scoring airline in this category. It also receives 4/5 in areas such as staff service (both inflight and in the lounge), inflight entertainment, and lounge catering.

Following closely behind is Cathay Pacific Airways, which receives an overall score of 8.28. It is the largest airline in Hong Kong, with its head office located at Hong Kong International Airport. The airline provides flights to over 60 destinations, such as Seoul, Dubai, and Johannesburg.

Cathay Pacific Airways scores 4/5 for the comfort of its seats (both sitting and sleeping), as well as for their width and length, meaning those travelling long haul can rest comfortably. The airline also scores highly for its catering options in lounges, which include The Teahouse in the Pier Business lounge and Noodle Bar in the Wing Business lounge, both located at Hong Kong International Airport.

In third place is EVA Air, with an overall score of 7.93. It is one of the two largest airlines in Taiwan and has hubs in both Taoyuan International Airport and Kaohsiung International Airport. The airline flies to 30 different countries, including Thailand, Japan, and China.

EVA Air scores no less than 4/5 across all three categories, receiving 4 for both its lounges and inflight services and 4.6 for its seats. The airline scores 5/5 for the sitting comfort, width, and length of its seats, meaning that anyone choosing to travel with EVA Air is guaranteed to have a comfortable and relaxing experience when travelling long distances.

Oman Air welcomes 5th Boeing 737 MAX jet

Earlier this month, Oman Air, the national airline of the Sultanate of Oman, took delivery of a new Boeing 737 MAX 8 from CDB Aviation. The aircraft is the last in a series of five deliveries contracted as part of a sale and leaseback transaction with the global aircraft lessor, which is a wholly owned Irish subsidiary of China Development Bank Financial Leasing Co., Ltd. (CDB Leasing).

Designed to offer exceptional performance, flexibility and efficiency, the 737 Max 8 is equipped with the CFM Leap 1B27 engines and configured with 12 Business and 150 Economy Class seats to support the carrier’s expanding network. Oman Air has been introducing routes throughout the Middle East and the Indian Subcontinent, as well as several cities in Europe, South Asia, and Africa, in recent years and is focused on growing additional connectivity to North and South America and Australia through strategic codeshares with its partner airlines.

Top airline in the Middle East and Africa for punctuality is .........


Oman Air, the national airline of the Sultanate of Oman, has been named top in the Middle East and Africa (MEA) for punctuality. Oman Air Receives Passenger-Ranked APEX Five-Star Major Airline Award 2023

Oman Air, the national airline of the Sultanate of Oman, has been awarded the 2023 Five-Star Major Airline rating by the Airline Passenger Experience Association (APEX). The award was announced on 26 October 2022 during the annual APEX/IFSA Expo in California, US. It’s the third consecutive year the airline has received the award, which measures customer feedback in a range of metrics including seat comfort, cabin service, in-flight meals and in-flight entertainment.

Oman Sail welcomes Oman Air as Official and Exclusive Airline Partner

Oman Sail announced it has signed an agreement with Oman Air which will see the Sultanate of Oman’s national carrier become the Official and Exclusive Airline Partner for all Oman Sail events through until 2024. Oman Air will also become the Official Airline Sponsor of the Oman Olympic Team throughout qualification for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.

Dr Khamis Al Jabri, Oman Sail CEO, said, “Oman Air’s support for our sailors during a very busy period which culminates in the Paris 2024 Olympic Games will be invaluable in ensuring the athletes and their equipment arrive safely and ready to compete. Oman Air, MHA and The British School of Excellence join forces to offer preparatory cabin crew training

In partnership with Oman Air and The British School of Excellence, Muscat Hospitality Academy (MHA) announces a unique opportunity for Omani female students to enrol for Preparatory Cabin Crew Training. The programme duration is for six months and will encompass academic and practical training with world-class experts and coaches who provide students with the necessary credentials to secure a guaranteed job from Oman Air.

The training programme includes specialised courses covering in-flight service, the tools and equipment used on board, industry terms and phrases, and the rules and regulations governing air service operations. Participants will receive world-class training which will incorporate subjects such as Workplace Safety, Grooming, Deportment & Etiquette, Mindset & Emotional Intelligence, Communication Skills, Service Excellence, Food & Beverage Service, Aviation Knowledge, Intermediate and Independent Business English Skills training.

Upon successful graduation, the students will receive official certification from the MHA and The British School of Excellence, that qualifies them to work for Oman Air.

Entry requirements for the programme include a high school certificate and English language proficiency (both spoken and written). Applicants must be aged between 21 and 28 and there is a minimum height requirement of 157 cm. Candidates must have the ability to swim unaided as well.

Oman Air is official airline of IRONMAN 70.3 in Salalah

The iconic and internationally renowned sports event, IRONMAN 70.3, will be hosted in Salalah, Sultanate of Oman, creating the ideal backdrop for this spectacular event. Oman Air Adds More Flights Between Muscat and Salalah


To meet exceptional Khareef season demand for Salalah in Oman’s southern Dhofar Governorate, Oman Air has gradually increased daily flight frequencies on its Muscat-Salalah-Muscat sector to reach up to 30 flights a day.

The additional flights on the sector reflect Salalah's reputation as a top tourist destination during Khareef (monsoon) season. The airline will increase flights based on the schedule below:

Oman Air to operate 48 Match Day Shuttle flights between Muscat and Doha for football world cup

The national airline of the Sultanate of Oman, Oman Air has confirmed it will offer more flights for football fans during this winter's FIFA World Cup being held in Qatar.

The airline has said it will operate 48 Match Day Shuttle flights between Muscat and Doha from 21st November to 3rd December 2022. Oman Air offers wide-body service, including Boeing 787 Dreamliner between Muscat and Doha. Passengers on shuttle flights will enjoy Oman Air’s exceptional award-winning products and services, both in the air and on the ground, and its signature Omani hospitality is accessible to guests on every flight.

Return Match Day Shuttle flights can be booked on the Oman Air website (omanair.com) with prices starting from 49 OMR for Economy Class and 155 OMR for Business Class. Fares include fees, taxes, airport charges, and hand baggage allowance.

Passengers are advised to arrive in Doha at least four hours before the start of a match due to the high frequency of flights each day. In addition, all passengers must register for a Hayya card (fan ID) prior to their flight, as this is required for travel on all Match Day Shuttle flights and for entry into Qatar.


Throughout the tournament, football fans can book their Match Day Shuttle flights, which provide a smooth and comfortable 24-hour experience between Muscat and Doha. The service is intended to seamlessly connect fans to Qatar so that they can attend their respective matches. A no-check-in baggage policy also allows passengers to plan an easy-in, easy-out travel itinerary.
