Invisible Sky, the award winning documentary is now available to watch for free.......

Around twenty minutes before midnight on Thursday, April 20, 2006, a small plane - a Cessna 206 carrying five people crashed while on final approach to Bloomington/Monroe County Airport in Indiana.  All perished in the crash, including the 24-year-old pilot, Georgina Joshi.

The documentary film, Invisible Sky, tells the story of that crash, the subsequent investigation in to the crash and the resulting legal battle with the National Transportation Safety Board that went all the way to the Federal Court of Appeals.

Georgina Joshi was born in Elkhart, Indiana and adored music from an early age and one might say, she was supremely musically advanced for her age. So much so that she started taking violin lessons from the age of two!  Georgina also loved to sing and was often taking part in musicals throughout her childhood. As a high school student, she joined the South Bend Chamber Singers and then studied at the Royal College of Music in London, England. That was followed by Indiana University in Bloomington and she was rapidly becoming a rising star in the world of opera. Joshi had a fantastic technique, a stunning voice and a commanding stage presence, her future was, it seemed assured and golden. Yet, all that talent, all that that promise, was extinguished on that fateful day in April 2006.

As you already may know, there are over 1,000 private aeroplane crashes in the United States every year, yet the NTSB continues to focus on commercial aviation. They’ve very few reforms that would reduce these number of crashes in the private aviation sector.  The film INVISIBLE SKY is looking to change all that.

The film premiered on what would have been Georgina's 38th birthday and despite the global pandemic went on to win the 'Best Documentary' award at the 2020 River Bend Film Fest. It has been shown to numerous aviation clubs, societies, schools and at various film festivals. You could download or purchase it on Apple TV, Amazon and InDemand cable providers and now it is available for free on the following services.

There are over 1,000 private aeroplane crashes in the US each year, yet the agency continues to focus on commercial aviation and there have been few, if any reforms to reduce that number. Invisible Sky hopes to change that with Georgina’s story and raising awareness about the agency’s lack of regulation.

The film's website, invisibleskyfilm.com, has more details of the story and the film, with its trailer that premiered on October 21st, which would've been Georgina's 38th birthday. The film is in consideration at festivals around the world.
