The Equity Index 2022/23 produced by Lead 5050 places IAG Cargo in second place.

The cargo division of the International Airlines Group, IAG Cargo has taken the second spot in The Equity Index 2022/23 which is produced by Lead 5050, a cross-industry accreditation body, that ranked firms using official data on average salaries, bonuses, and pay at every level.

The well-respected IAG Cargo was only beaten by the pharmaceutical giant GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) after data showed the business had a very small median and mean overall pay gap, with pay more evenly spread throughout all levels of the organisation.

Caroline Andrews, Chief People Officer at IAG Cargo said: "At IAG Cargo, we are committed to fostering an inclusive culture that appreciates the value of diversity and delivers on a great place to work for everyone. As a traditionally male-dominated industry, we are challenging this stereotype and working hard to inspire future female talent, and we are proud to receive recognition for this in the Equity Index 2022/23."

Leanne Linacre, chief executive officer of Lead5050, said: "Whilst the UK is a world leader in ensuring employers provide transparent data on gender-related pay, after years of progress, the gender pay gap for full-time workers has increased.

At the same time, the number of job vacancies rose to a record level last year whilst the cost-of-living crisis continues to bite adversely affecting women who are having to reduce their hours of work because of the cost of childcare.

"Closing the gender pay gap would strengthen the economy as higher wages would encourage more women to either enter the labour market or extend their working hours."

Skeleton cast of the world’s largest known dinosaur transported from Argentina to the UK by IAG Cargo

The cargo division of International Airlines Group - IAG Cargo has safely delivered one of the largest dinosaurs to walk the Earth on a shipment from Buenos Aires to London Heathrow. The titanosaur Patagotitan mayorum is around the same length as a British Airways’ Airbus A320 aircraft or four double decker buses.

The Natural History Museum confirmed IAG Cargo as its official exhibition logistics partner for its upcoming exhibition Titanosaur: Life as the biggest dinosaur back in November 2022. Now on UK soil, this will be the first time the magnificent titanosaur will be displayed in Europe.

The dinosaur’s journey started in Trelow, Argentina, from where the cast travelled to Buenos Aires before it moved onto London. In Trelow, Argentina, Patagotitan was dismantled into more than 40 crates – to be flown in the bellyhold of two British Airways B787-9 passenger aircrafts. Upon landing at London Heathrow, the unique freight was transported to a special facility ahead of its journey to the Natural History Museum where it will be re-assembled ready for public display in March.

Pakistan faces an unprecedented challenge in education in particular, more than 26,000 schools have been damaged or destroyed, disrupting the education of an estimated 3.5 million children.

IAG Cargo, the cargo division of International Airlines Group (IAG), has worked with the FCDO, England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB), Lord’s Taverners, Football for Peace and the Sarwar Foundation to transport nearly 3,000 pieces of cricket equipment into Islamabad.

The business has donated capacity to transport items such as cricket bats and balls, gloves, pads, helmets, other protective equipment, and cricket clothing (trousers, shirts, jumpers and hats). More than 26,000 schools have been damaged or destroyed as a result of flooding, disrupting the education of an estimated 3.5 million children. This cricket equipment will be delivered to schools affected by the flooding to assist the return to a sense of normality and children’s’ development.

This donation is in addition to IAG Cargo’s movement of 34 tonnes of emergency aid to Islamabad in October, which included medical equipment, non-perishable food, clothing and tents.

John Cheetham, Chief Commercial Officer at IAG Cargo commented: “We are glad to support donation efforts in response to the humanitarian flooding crisis in Pakistan. As a cargo industry we have a role to play in delivering a range of essential goods every day and at IAG Cargo we are proud to use our global network and capacity to help children affected by the floods and bring some normality back to their lives.”

IAG Cargo has previously supported other humanitarian efforts, including 125 tonnes of aid to Ukraine this year, two shipments of medical aid to India in 2021 during a peak in COVID-19 cases in the country, and 20 tonnes of aid to Haiti following the 2021 earthquake, when the business worked with the UK government to transport shelter kits and solar powered lanterns for up to 1,300 families.

The Lord’s Taverners, a UK charity that uses cricket to positively impact the lives of young people facing the challenges of inequality, have donated a total of 2,733 cricket related items which are being shipped (for free by IAG Cargo via British Airways) to Pakistan ahead of the Test Matches. This kit includes: 70 cricket bats, 132 balls, 98 pairs of cricket pads, 71 pairs of cricket gloves, 32 helmets, other protective equipment including wicket keeping pads and gloves and cricket clothing (trousers, shirts, jumpers, hats). IAG Cargo announces the restart of services from its Madrid hub to Caracas and Rio de Janeiro.

These routes join IAG Cargo’s increased capacity to Latin American destinations this winter, including Chile, Mexico and Ecuador.

The addition of these services will offer customers more uplift between Latin America and Europe

These routes facilitate the movement of perishables and popular foods grown locally including flowers, papayas, mangos, and figs. This direct service will increase to three times a week from 31st October

This route will facilitate the movement of pharmaceuticals and medical equipment

IAG Cargo, the cargo division of International Airlines Group (IAG), announces that on Friday 21st October, it will be restarting its direct service between Dublin and Miami airport.

This service will initially operate twice weekly, then will increase to three times a week on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays from 31st October on an Aer Lingus A330-300. This widebody aircraft will facilitate the transportation of up 20 tonnes of cargo, which is equivalent to 7 aircraft pallets.

This capacity will support the pharmaceutical industry with IAG Cargo’s Dublin hub ideally located to serve the growing pharmaceutical market operating in Ireland. Approximately 120 overseas companies have plants in Ireland including 9 of the 10 largest pharmaceutical companies in the world.

Certified under the Irish Exporters Association (IEA) GDP passport program, IAG Cargo has the ability and expertise to move pharmaceutical and medical products that require temperature sensitive handling.

Daniel Byrne, Regional Commercial Manager UK and Ireland at IAG Cargo commented: “It’s great to see our once popular Dublin to Miami route back in action. Dublin Airport is home to our sister airline, Aer Lingus, and is a central hub for our Constant Climate network. I’m very pleased to be offering our customers the opportunity to transport vital pharmaceutical cargo and medical equipment between Europe and the USA. As the air cargo industry heads into the busy Q4 period, it’s important as a company that we continue to revive and introduce routes across our expansive wide-body network”.

Pravin Singh, Vice President Commercial, Americas at IAG Cargo added: “Miami is one of our latest transatlantic routes to resume on Aer Lingus and we’re excited to be building back our USA connectivity this year. We look forward to providing this service for our customers to our base in Dublin, following a temporary pause. Miami is an important part of our network, allowing customers to also move their products from Central and South America through our interline partners, supplementing our own capacity”.

IAG Cargo continues to expand its network, now offering 10 destinations into the USA and Canada from Dublin including New York, Boston, San Francisco, and Los Angeles.

You could own your very own Airbus A330 - this time in the colours of fellow IAG airline, Iberia.
