Norway to shut al airports from Monday, Prime Minister Erna Solberg confirms.

Erna Solberg, Prime Minister of Norway has confirmed the country would shut down all airports and seaports from Monday in an attempt to halt the spread of coronavirus COVID-19.

The government said it was ready to do all that’s needed to secure the nation's economy and would try to import medical equipment from China.

Aircraft carrying Norwegian citizens would still be able to land in Norway, and the government was negotiating with the airlines, Norwegian and SAS about repatriation flights for Norwegian nationals that wanted to return home.  “Norwegians abroad will of course be allowed to come home,” Solberg said, adding that the airlines would also be asked to transport medical equipment from China.

Solberg confirmed there would be extensive controls at entry points along its 1,500-kilometre border with Sweden, however, the border would remain open.
