The choice of these first destinations was built from exchanges with Montpellier airport and the precise knowledge of all destinations by Transavia. They benefit from a very strong tourist potential and support, for some of them, on very strong links with the inhabitants of the territory of Montpellier. Transavia also intends to develop the attractiveness of the Montpellier region by attracting more foreign travellers through its offers.

Nathalie Stubler, CEO of Transavia France, says: "We were impressed by the warm welcome we received at the announcement of the opening of the Montpellier base. We were eager to unveil these first destinations from Montpellier. The program we are presenting will enable us to respond to a very strong demand from residents to have access to a low-cost offer from Montpellier airport but also to participate in the attractiveness of the territory by welcoming new tourists. The countdown is now launched: in 4 months, the first Transavia flight will take off from Montpellier airport. "

Emmanuel Brehmer, Chairman of the Executive Board of Montpellier Airport, said: "We have to take stock of what is currently happening for the Montpellier Méditerranée Airport of course, but also and especially for the urban area of Montpellier. Eastern Occitania and Western Paca region. 14 new destinations, almost all exclusive, will be operated in the spring of 2020. Many of them were desired or even strongly claimed by residents, associations, businesses or communities. It's a huge joy to be able to meet those expectations. Beyond, even if these lines are primarily for travellers in our territory, a considerable number of tourists additional will discover our beautiful destination. This blue-white-green revolution was made possible by the quality of the exchanges with the Transavia teams, and the confidence with which Nathalie Stubler, its President, was kind enough to honour us. Thanks to this offer, now I say to the inhabitants of this region: leave home! ".
