Juneyao to start Icelandic route in March 2020

Juneyao Air has confirmed it will be starting a service to the Icelandic capital from March 2020 to fulfil growing demand from Chinese travellers. "The airline intends to embark upon its maiden voyage from Shanghai, China to Keflavรญk Airport, Iceland, with a stopover in Helsinki, on March 31, 2020.” Said Xu Xiang, of Juneyao’s Finnish office. "Today, there are approximately 100,000 Chinese tourists arriving in Iceland annually. We estimate that approximately 20,000 passengers will fly with us to Iceland next year. We expect a yearly increase of 10% after that. We want to be the first airline to offer direct flights between the two countries,",

“We are a four-star airline that offers full service. There are about 160 routes in our flight network, which links China’s biggest cities to neighbouring countries. Last year, we transported over 18 million passengers,” Xu said.

The plan is to operate the route twice each week initially, with the potential of more rotations being introduced along with demand. Economy tickets will start from around €430.00 whilst business class tickets are expected to be offered from €1,290.00.  It is understood that Juneyao will be operating the route with its new Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft.
