Delta move terminals in New Orleans

The US mega-carrier, Delta is about to move home in New Orleans!   The airline is hoping for a big easy move in The Big Easy come May 15th, when all its operations will begin from Concourse C at the newly built North Terminal, aptly located on the north side of the airfield at Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport (MSY).

Delta's last arrivals and departures at its current home on Concourse D in the existing South Terminal complex will occur on May 14. Aircraft, ground equipment and many other operational-critical supplies and tools will move overnight beginning on May 14 for the ensuing launch from Delta's new home on the morning of May 15th.

Extensive coordination by Delta's Airport Customer Service and Corporate Real Estate teams with the MSY airport authority continues and no impact to operations are expected.

The new terminal has thirty-five airline gates and passenger experience will be vastly improved with a consolidated checkpoint offering greater ease and efficiency for passengers going through security and an in-line baggage system where passengers will just drop off their checked baggage at the ticket counters. Other amenities include an adjacent 2,190 space parking garage and surface parking, concessions located down the center of the concourse to allow passengers to see their gate while enjoying a taste of New Orleans or picking up that last minute souvenir. Passengers should feel the spirit of New Orleans in the new terminal through the sights, smells, and sounds that reverberate all the best in our City.
