CLEAR expands to 28th airport with launch at Cleveland Hopkins International Airport

CLEAR, the secure identity company using biometrics to build a frictionless and secure world, is now available for travellers at Cleveland Hopkins International Airport (CLE). CLE is the 42nd location and 28th airport in CLEAR’s growing nationwide network.

CLEAR is available today in the Central and South Checkpoints. CLE is the busiest airport in Ohio with nearly ten million passengers flying out of the airport every year. Travellers will now be able to use CLEAR to verify their identity with just the tap of a finger or blink of an eye before moving to physical security screening.

CLEAR is changing the way consumers experience the world by transforming the cards in their wallets into a single biometric ID. Today, more than 3 million CLEAR members enjoy secure and frictionless experiences at airports, sports stadiums and beyond.

CLE has consistently focused on enhancing the passenger experience and in 2018, the city-owned airport was named “Most Improved Airport” in North America by Airports Council International. Most recently CLE has added new and upgraded food selections including Wow Bao, Shake Shack and the return of Panini’s.

“CLEAR is committed to making travel easier, safer and more enjoyable for Clevelanders, and for anyone who chooses to visit America’s North Coast,” said Gina Bruzzichesi, CLEAR’s SVP of Operations. “Cleveland is a great city and an important market for CLEAR, and we’re thrilled to bring new jobs to the region that can also help improve the overall travel experience.”

This July, CLEAR will also be available at Progressive Field during the 2019 All-Star Week through its partnership with Major League Baseball, providing fans with seamless entry into the Midsummer Classic.

“We are thrilled to have a new, convenient way for our guests to travel with ease at Cleveland Hopkins International Airport,” said Airport Director Robert Kennedy. “Adding CLEAR gives our guests more options for getting through security quickly.”

The expansion to CLE follows the company’s launch of a new experience enabling members to simultaneously confirm their identity and boarding pass information through a fingerprint or iris scan.

CLEAR membership is $15 per month with the option to add an additional family member for just $50 per year. Members can also bring their children under 18 with them through the CLEAR lane for free. After a fast, one-time enrollment, members can begin using CLEAR immediately. CLEAR is certified as Qualified Anti-Terrorism Technology by the Department of Homeland Security (DHS).
