Condor expands 2022 summer flight schedule to include Faro and Alicante

Spain's Costa Blanca or Portugal's Algarve -  the choice is yours, Condor tells German holidaymakers!

The holiday airline, which has for some strange reason chosen to adopt a sideways Star Trek insignia as part of its rebranding exercise, added two new routes for its summer 2022 schedule.

Starting July 29, Condor will fly from Frankfurt to Faro on Fridays and Saturdays, and from July 31 to Alicante on Wednesdays and Sundays. An Airbus A320 will be used. Flights are available now at www.condor.com and by phone. Travel with Condor can also be booked with all German tour operators and at travel agencies.

Faro is for many holiday-makers starting point for round trips by the Algarve. Especially the coast of the Portuguese region is known for fine sandy beaches and impressive rock formations. But Faro itself is also worth a trip. The city convinces with an authentic old town, the popular beach Praia de Faro and the proximity to the nature park Ria Formosa, with its lagoons, beaches and numerous hiking and sports opportunities.

The Spanish port city of Alicante on the Costa Blanca delights with the lively old town of Barrio de la Santa Cruz, whose narrow streets and colourful houses lead to the medieval castle Castillo de Santa Bárbara. The castle is located on a hill and offers impressive views of the Mediterranean coast. In addition to a vibrant nightlife, vacationers will find some of the country's most beautiful beaches along the White Coast.

Individual Travel Kits for Condor's Premium Economy Class and Business Class

Sleep more comfortably or freshen up: Condor guests in Premium Economy Class and Business Class can now put together their own individual travel kit on long-haul flights with the Refresh Kit and Sleep Kit. In addition, guests in both booking classes will receive a welcome gift waiting for them in their seat on all flights.

The Sleep Kit consists of socks made from 100 percent recycled PET, earplugs in a paper package, and a viscose sleep mask based on bamboo fibers. The Refresh Kit includes toothpaste and a bamboo toothbrush with nylon bristles, lip balm and a hygiene wipe. After the launch, guests are offered a choice of both kits.

"Our guests can decide if the Sleep or Refresh Kit, or a combination of both, meets their personal needs. While one guest may be more likely to choose socks and a sleep mask, another guest may prefer a toothbrush and a hygiene towel," said Yvonne Noack, product manager commercial at Condor. "Choosing according to need reduces the number of unneeded items that would have to be discarded unused. We also recommend that our guests use the contents of the travel kits multiple times."

In Premium Economy Class and Business Class, guests also receive a welcome gift on all flights: a Travel Organizer, which is available in various designs for smart packing for shoes, clothing or cables.

Germany's most popular leisure airline reinvents itself........

Is it a late April Fools joke?  German holiday airline Condor is changing its image and painting its planes to look like straws....

No, it is true -  a brand new stripy theme coming soon to the whole fleet.

Germany's most popular leisure airline has lifted the lid on a brand new identity that will see the Condor fleet wear stripes in five colours. Apparently, these new paint jobs are not inspired by straws but by parasols, bath towels and beach chairs. The carrier wants to turn its back on its rich heritage and evolve into a distinctive and unique vacation airline.

"Condor has undergone a transformation over the past two and a half years: From a subsidiary of a vertically integrated travel group to an independent airline that looks back proudly on its history and tradition, while at the same time embarking on the path to the future. We want to express this unmistakably through our corporate identity: Condor is vacation and Condor is unmistakable - like our new design, with which we are now launching into the future," says Ralf Teckentrup, CEO of Condor. "Our new trademark are stripes, our figurative mark stands for our origin and the colours for diversity. This triad is new, what remains is our passion. It has always made Condor unique and is therefore also reflected in our claim: Passion is our compass."

The conception and creation of the new brand identity came about under the direction of Remo Masala, owner of the creative agency vision alphabet in Berlin. "Revising Condor's brand identity with its long tradition is a delicate interplay based on respect for its origins and requirements for the future. Our goal was to endow Condor with a special visual independence, the rationale of which is united in Condor's brand essence: the invention of the vacation flight, and the effective vacation code, the stripes of summer, joy and freedom."

The corporate identity's lead colours are yellow and blue. They have been complemented by the contrasting colour grey. The Condor signet, the condor in a circle, goes back to one of Germany's most influential designers, Otl Aicher. The figurative mark has been given a facelift, with finer and more dynamic lines. It can be found again in the tail unit of the aircraft. The Condor lettering has also been adapted: It is now more compact, and the new lower case has made the wordmark more independent and consistent with the image. The logo appears in high-contrast black on the fuselage of the aircraft.

Initially, Condor's aircraft will carry five colours in a striped look: yellow, red, blue, green, and beige stand for the facets of the diversity of Condor's guests, employees and the multitude of opportunities to discover the world with Condor.

The crew uniforms, accessories such as neckerchiefs, ties and pins will shine in the new design too, which will also make its way on board, to the airports, on the website and on social media: in the coming weeks and months, many items on board will be replaced, such as cups, blankets and cutlery, as well as all materials on the ground such as boarding passes, ID cards and airport signage. The replacement will run successively, with nothing of old design being disposed of, but everything being used up. Around 80 percent of the fleet is to be repainted by 2024, because new paint jobs are due anyway. Condor is thus choosing the most sustainable way to redesign its brand identity and fleet.

The new design was unveiled in Toulouse with the first A330neo, which will take off for Condor in the fall. The first 2-litre aircraft will of course take off with green stripes. As early as tomorrow, the first Condor aircraft in the new look will be on route: the Airbus A321 with the registration D-AIAD will wear yellow stripes and fly to Lanzarote on April 5 at noon. In the upcoming weeks, five more Boeing 757 and Airbus A320/1 aircraft will be repainted, so that six aircraft will be flying in the new design in the summer flight schedule. They will mainly fly to Mallorca, Greece, the Canary Islands and Egypt.

German airline Condor starts flights from Frankfurt to Tbilisi, Georgia.

Condor will be flying twice a week from Frankfurt to Tbilisi.

Condor will be flying twice a week from Frankfurt to Tbilisi. The capital of Georgia is a popular starting point for round trips through the Caucasus and thus complements the existing connections to Yerevan in Armenia.

Condor flies from Frankfurt to Tbilisi on Thursdays and Sundays and to Yerevan on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. Travel with Condor can be booked with tour operators and at travel agencies, and tickets starting at 159.99 euros are available at www.condor.com and by phone.

"With the launch of direct flights to Tbilisi, Condor is consistently pursuing its strategy of offering vacations with family and friends away from the major established beach destinations," said Ralf Teckentrup, CEO of Condor. "Tbilisi captivates with the stunning nature of the Caucasus, the country's historical sites and with Georgian hospitality, and we are pleased to offer our guests even more travel options with this new destination in the flight schedule."

The two capitals, Tbilisi and Yerevan, can be ideally combined with a round trip. Due to its history, the Caucasus is rich in historic churches and monasteries set in unique scenery. Thus, the cave monastery Geghard counts as a special highlight in Armenia. Lake Sevan, the largest freshwater lake in the entire Caucasus, is also worth a visit. In Georgia, there are mountain landscapes and salt lakes to marvel at, wine-growing areas and rock sites to explore. The ancient cave town of Vardsia and the Gergeti Monastery, located in front of the 5,047-meter-high Kazbek Glacier, are among the country's most famous sights.

Condor gets official certification for commercial flights with its first A330-200 aircraft......

Earlier this week Condor received the official certification for commercial flights with its first A330-200 aircraft, registration D-AIYC.

As one of four A330-200s, the aircraft is expected to be in service with Condor on a transitional basis for around two years. Starting in autumn 2022, Condor will successively take the brand-new A330neo long-haul aircraft with a three-class product into its operations. The first passenger flight of the Airbus A330-200 now certified with sun-hungry vacationers, particularly many of them from tour operator Alltours, will take off from Düsseldorf to Palma de Mallorca on Saturday, February 19, 2022.

"For Condor, the first passenger flight of the first A330-200 is an important step in preparation for the fleet renewal and towards the future. Over the past weeks, we have been preparing intensively for this day and the deployment of the aircraft, and we are looking forward to welcoming our first guests on board on their flight to Mallorca on Saturday," said Christian Schmitt, COO Condor. "Even though the aircraft will only be in service for the transition as part of the modernization of our fleet for the time being, we will offer our guests economy and business class on these flights, so that their vacation already begins when entering the aircraft."

The Airbus A330-200, with the registration D-AIYCwill initially be deployed on short- and medium-haul routes and is also expected to operate on long-haul routes in summer 2022. Unlike the new Condor A330neo, which will fly in a three-class configuration, the Condor Airbus A330-200 has a two-class configuration with 240 seats in Economy Class and 22 Business Class seats. For all Business Class guests, the A330-200 offers comfortable seats that can be converted into completely flat reclining seats at the touch of a button. All Economy Class seats have a monitor as well as a USB port and power socket at the seat, so guests can charge their mobile devices at any time. The free Wi-Fi inflight entertainment program Condor FlyStream will also soon be available on board the aircraft, to giveguests the option to watchfilms and series conveniently by streaming it with their own mobile device.

In July 2021, Germany's most popular leisure airline announced an order for 16 long-haul A330-900neo aircraft of the latest generation. As the German launch customer for the Airbus A330neo, Condor is thus focusing on latest technology, maximum efficiency and the highest level of customer comfort. The first aircraft is expected in autumn 2022, whilst the replacement of the entire long-haul fleet is scheduled to be completed by mid-2024.

Condor releases details of summer destinations and winter flight schedule 21/22 from Zurich

The German carrier and holiday firm, once part of the Thomas Cook Group, Condor is flying to nine fantastic vacation destinations in the Mediterranean from Zurich. The airline's two Zurich-based A320s take off several times a week for Palma de Mallorca, Ibiza, Tenerife, Gran Canaria, Greece (Crete, Kos, Rhodes), Cyprus (Larnaca) and Sardinia (Olbia). And the leisure airline continues its commitment in winter: from Zurich, Condor flies to Fuerteventura, Gran Canaria, Tenerife and, from November, additionally to Funchal, Madeira.

"Condor has been flying its guests on vacation for 65 years - and from July, things will finally get off to a flying start from Zurich. We're launching in Zurich with a diverse selection of destinations, a competitive product and the kind of service that lets vacations begin on board," said Thomas Welti, Country Manager Condor Switzerland. "And because we have pent-up demand for real beach, sun and sea after all the videoconferencing, we are bringing all sun-seekers to the most popular destinations for the winter season as well. Flights from October to Easter 2022 are already available for booking."

All flights in the current summer and winter schedules can be booked either as part of a package tour with all Swiss tour operators, at travel agencies or as flight-only tickets online at www.condor.com/ch.
