Airport Security Officer at London Gatwick Airport 

Salary including shift pay and allowances up to £36,218 per annum full time



As an Airport Security Officer at London Gatwick, your primary goal is to work as part of a team to keep our customers and colleagues safe and secure. You will play an important role in enhancing the customer experience by providing a warm and welcoming environment.

Airport Security Officers ensure our safety and security by conducting searches, safety checks, and assisting customers and colleagues throughout their airport experience.

What will you do?
Upon successful completion of training and National X-Ray Competency Test exams, you will:

Work collaboratively within a team and various airport departments to deliver an outstanding customer experience.
Verify documents and perform security screening and searching for both customers, colleagues and vehicles entering the security controlled areas.
Utilise colour X-Ray images in both 2D and 3D to screen customer and colleague belongings.
Assist in handling health, safety, or security incidents.
Participate in regular training sessions to maintain screening and searching competencies in accordance with the Department for Transport (DfT) regulations.

We are seeking people with the following qualities:

Ability to provide friendly customer service in a high-pressure environment.
Physical fitness; able to stand, sit, bend, and walk for the durations of a shift.

Helicopter Mechanic Strom Aviation

Location: Fort Worth, Texas


Familiar with using test equipment for track and balance. Theory of rotor system tracking and balancing for adjustments.  Interpreting Airworthiness Directives and Alert Service Bulletins for application on helicopters.  Familiar with using measuring instruments such as dial calipers, micrometers, tensiometers, dial bore gauges, feeler gauges, and borescopes.   Adjustments and troubleshooting of engine parameters for oil pressure, Ng, temperature indication, and topping settings.  Familiar with common hand tools for applying torque to fasteners. Keeping detailed records of all repairs and work performed on the aircraft in accordance with the repair station guidelines. Inspect and repair aircraft according to strict safety guidelines set by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) or applicable regulatory body.

Perform routine maintenance checks and perform diagnostic tests to identify hydraulic and mechanical malfunctions.  Consult maintenance blueprints, manuals, and other documents to assist with troubleshooting and repairs.  Inventory aircraft parts, supplies, and equipment, and keep detailed records of inspections, repairs, and other maintenance operations.  Complete tasks within allotted time frames and to FAA (or equivalent) and company standards. Collaborate with other mechanics and engineers to perform repairs and ensure aircraft are operating smoothly. 

Skills:

- Analytical mind with a penchant for troubleshooting.

- Excellent math and computer skills.

- Detail-oriented with a passion for mechanics.

- Manual dexterity and physical strength.

- Extensive experience with power and hand tools, and knowledge of aircraft systems, mechanics, and parts.

- Ability to make consistent and precise repairs under pressure

Job Qualifications
Required Skills and Qualifications:

- High school diploma or equivalent

- 3+ years’ experience as a helicopter mechanic, with at least 2 years on designated helicopters (Airbus – AS350, EC130, EC135, EC145; Agusta – 109, 119, 139; Bell – 206, 407, 429, 412, 505; MD – 500; Sikorsky – S76).

- Working knowledge of blueprint reading, geometry, and trigonometry

- Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment.

- Familiarity with aviation maintenance manuals

Preferred Skills and Qualifications:

- Airframe & Powerplant license.

- Inspection and Authorization License.

- Any OEM school training within the past 4 years

- Experience working on commercial and military helicopters.

What you need to do the role

The ideal candidate for this position should possess a demonstrated history of successfully leading teams, fostering a culture of performance management. Effective time management and prioritisation skills are crucial, alongside possessing the necessary license in compliance with the CAA or an aeronautical degree. Additionally, being highly IT literate with proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with AMOS is crucial for success in this role.
