Many airlines are cancelling flights, British Airways who says they are axing 22 flights to France, easyJet has cancelled 76 services, Ryanair has dropped 420 flights, while the French national airline, Air France has cut almost half of its short-haul route network. The carrier expects to operate up to 90% of its long-haul routes, however, there could be some short-notice cancellations.
SNCTA, the air traffic control union advises the strike is over wages, recruitment and conditions, despite already having better salaries and perks than many other European nations.
