Airlines Reporting Corp. (ARC) released data showing ARC-accredited travel agency air ticket sales totalling $7.3 billion in August 2022, a 127% year-over-year increase.* The average round-trip U.S. air travel ticket price declined for the third-straight month, coming in at $526. This average ticket price is a 5% decrease from July 2022 but a 32% increase year over year.

Month over month, August 2022 results showed:

Total passenger trips settled by ARC in August 2022 increased 74% year over year from 15.2 million to 21.7 million. U.S. domestic trips increased 30% year over year to 14.2 million, and international trips increased 74% to 7.4 million over the same period.
