airBaltic adding Marrakesh to its winter destination list...............

Latvian airline airBaltic announces that starting from late October it will launch new flights from Riga to Marrakesh in Morocco. Marrakesh is the most popular city for international travellers in Morocco. It is a great gateway to the Atlas Mountains, the Sahara Deserts and offers plenty of places of interest.

Martin Gauss, Chief Executive Officer of airBaltic: “We are excited to announce our first-ever scheduled route to Africa. As the leading airline in the Baltics, we continue to build our network, adding more exciting leisure destinations also for the winter season.”

Marrakesh, the so-called Red City, offers so much to the adventurous tourist - like camel rides in the breath-taking Sahara Desert, astonishing views of the Atlas mountains, the impressive authentic architecture of the city, traditional food, stunning performances and culture, and fantastic shopping in its bazaars, which are famous for their lively atmosphere and a vast array of trinkets, textiles, and tasty treats. Be ready to bargain on every corner - it's a part of their tradition!

This is just the latest in a number of new routes for the carrier that only flies the Airbus A220 aircraft - formally known as the Bombardier CS300. The airline is growing so fast that a major milestone in staff numbers has just been passed. The firm has just exceeded 1800 employees, reaching the highest volume during its 26 years history.

Alīna Roščina, SVP Human Resources of airBaltic: “As the airline industry continues its recovery from its largest crisis in history, we continue to attract new talent to our motivated team. It enables airBaltic to maintain its high level of service while the company continues growing.”

“Today we are already preparing for the number of employees we will require for operations next summer. We also develop the competencies and skills of our staff, and provide new employees with aviation-specific knowledge,” Alīna Roščina added.

Currently, the company has a total of over 1800 employees. The company is continuing active recruitment, and currently has more than 40 open vacancies, seeking more than 300 additional employees in total.
