The documentary film, Invisible Sky, tells the story of that crash, the subsequent investigation in to the crash and the resulting legal battle with the National Transportation Safety Board that went all the way to the Federal Court of Appeals.
Georgina Joshi was born in Elkhart, Indiana and adored music from an early age and one might say, she was supremely musically advanced for her age. So much so that she started taking violin lessons from the age of two! Georgina also loved to sing and was often taking part in musicals throughout her childhood. As a high school student, she joined the South Bend Chamber Singers and then studied at the Royal College of Music in London, England. That was followed by Indiana University in Bloomington and she was rapidly becoming a rising star in the world of opera. Joshi had a fantastic technique, a stunning voice and a commanding stage presence, her future was, it seemed assured and golden. Yet, all that talent, all that that promise, was extinguished on that fateful day in April 2006.
The film premiered on what would have been Georgina's 38th birthday and despite the global pandemic went on to win the 'Best Documentary' award at the 2020 River Bend Film Fest. It has been shown to numerous aviation clubs, societies, schools and at various film festivals.
