Considered by many as a safe haven in Ukraine, the city of Lviv has remained relatively calm despite the Russian invasion and daily attacks. However, that calm was shattered this morning when a missile attack rained down on an area some five kilometres from the city, destroying an aircraft repair centre.

The plant was non-operational at the time and the local authorities have said that nobody was injured in the incident, yet the proximity to the city is causing some concern. The small plant is only a short distance from Lviv's Danylo Halytskyi International Airport, which used to have scheduled flights to key European destinations like London and Paris.

Lviv is not far from the Polish border and a long way from where the Russians are invading which marks a change in strategy for the Russian forces.
