Jazeera Airways heading to London

Kuwait based Jazeera Airways will be launching a weekly flight from its home base to London Heathrow from 18th June.


The airline that owns and operates its own terminal at Kuwait International Airport – Terminal 5 will operate the route on Friday's for the foreseeable future, however, it has plans to increase the service as soon as the current restrictions over COVID end.

The airline says its fares start at just KD 299 return and are available to book now, with the flights being conducted by fully vaccinated crews on Airbus A320neo aircraft.  

Chief executive Rohit Ramachandran said: “Our new service to Heathrow enables Jazeera Airways to cater to popular demand for flights to and from London, including demand from business travellers, Kuwaiti students and the large segment of accustomed tourists who we believe are more than eager to return to London this summer, many of whom own homes in the area.

As the vaccinations against the Covid-19 virus roll out in Kuwait and across the world, countries are opening their borders for a gradual return of summer traffic.”

Established in April 2004, Jazeera Airways is the first non-government owned airline in the Middle East, continuing to be one of the few Middle East-based private airlines to this day. The carrier serves up to 30 destinations with a reliable fleet of Airbus A320 and A320neo aircraft – all fitted with signature leather seats and two or three class cabins. 

Jazeera Airways owns and operates its own terminal at Kuwait International Airport – Terminal 5 which ensures an enhanced passenger experience with dedicated check-in, fast immigration and short transfer distances. It also offers a unique Park & Fly service at Kuwait International Airport, where you can valet your car, check-in and take a shuttle right to the departure area.

Jazeera Airways Economy Class offers great value. Onboard, passengers can watch the complimentary Jazeera Screens in-flight entertainment and purchase from a wide variety of food and drink options from the Jazeera Café menu. Passengers can upgrade their seat selection to either Priority Seats (Rows 4-6) with 31-inch seat pitch which allows priority boarding, Preferred Seats (Rows 7-10) with 31-inch seat pitch or XL/Extra Legroom Seats (Rows 11-12) with 36-inch seat pitch.

Jazeera Airways is an IATA member and keeps to high international standards of safety and security.

T5 also has a 'Visa on Arrival desk' which is situated in the arrivals area before Immigration. Allows passengers, whether they have pre-ordered online or need to make an application on arrival, can visit the desk to process the visa application. You will require a passport with more than 6 months validity. Fees may apply.

Other arrival conditions will apply and passengers are advised to check with their airline prior to flying. 

You can get an electronic visa waiver (EVW) for 15 GBP from the UK Government instead of a full visa if you are a national of Kuwait, Oman, Qatar or the United Arab Emirates.  

An EVW lets you visit the UK for up to 6 months for tourism, business, study or medical treatment, however, if you’re visiting for another reason you have to apply for a full visa.  You must apply between 3 months and 48 hours before you travel.
