Jet2 halts holidays to Spain and Portugal

The leisure airline and holiday company owned by the Dart Group, Jet2 has confirmed today that it will halt flights to four different destinations in Spain following an increase in coronavirus cases being reported.

“Following the latest government advice regarding travel to mainland Spain from the UK, we have taken the decision to suspend our flights and holidays programme to Costa de Almeria, Alicante, Malaga and Murcia from 28th July up to and including 16th August,”

The firm also confirmed it was going to halt flights and holidays to Faro on Portugal's Algarve. These flights and package holidays will be suspended until August 16th also.  The company saw an influx of cancellations after the UK's Government reintroduced a 14-day self-isolation for anyone returning to the country from a visit to Spain. Europe's largest holiday company TUI, had already suspended its flights and holidays from the UK to Spain.
