As Delta grows in Miami, more fans connect to football’s Big Game

With the NFL’s conference championship games wrapped up, the Kansas City Chiefs and the San Francisco 49ers and their fans are Miami-bound for a chance to claim football’s highest honour.

To support Chiefs and 49ers faithful heading to Miami, Delta has added nonstop flights from San Francisco and Kansas City – giving fans direct access to the big matchup.

To support the faithful heading to Miami en route to Hard Rock Stadium, Delta has added nonstop flights from San Francisco and Kansas City – giving fans direct access to their team’s big matchup.

Delta is also making it easier for more fans to make the journey to Miami by adding flights from the airline’s key hubs at Atlanta, Detroit, New York City (LGA), and Minneapolis-St. Paul and substituting larger aircraft to offer more seats on regularly scheduled flights. All told, Delta is adding 18 flights and more than 19,000 seats through Miami for football fans making the trip.

On the ground in Miami, Delta will welcome 50 Airport Customer Service employees from other airports to provide temporary additional support for customers as the airline offers expanded hours at ticket counters and the Delta Sky Club over the weekend.

The news of the added flights comes off a recent announcement of four new nonstop destinations to and from Miami to begin later this year as Delta broadens its footprint in South Florida and develops its partnership with LATAM.

Extra flights en route to Miami will offer fans high-speed, free in-flight messaging and the latest movies and shows on-demand featured on Delta Studio on seat-back entertainment screens. Happen to be a football fan with a flight booked on Sunday night? Fear not – for customers travelling on one of Delta’s many aircraft equipped with 2Ku Wi-Fi, customers will be able to enjoy the game at 30,000 feet on Delta Studio, which is equipped with live satellite TV.

Delta has connected some of the most excited fans in sports with the games they dream of attending, providing additional seats to events including the College Football Playoffs and last year’s Big Game in the airline’s hometown of Atlanta.
