See Shanghai in a vintage Jeep with Four Seasons Hotel Shanghai

Discover the secret Shanghai, in back roads, behind alleyways and into the true story of this dynamic and gritty urban maze. In a vintage Jeep, explore street art, local experts and city figures, keen to tell guests about the real Shanghai.

To truly immerse guests in the local culture, Billy Yin, Chef Concierge of Four Seasons Hotel Shanghai and his team worked out an exclusive route for guests to discover more of hidden Shanghai with unusual places unknown from most others. Each ride can be customised if particular topics are preferred.

Prior to starting the journey, a personal guide introduces guests with an exclusive itinerary built just for them based on guest interests and wishes. Comfort is a priority. Bottles of water, sun-cream and other comfort enhancers are provided for a truly hassle-free experience. These private, off the beaten path journeys, are both authentic and comfortable for all ages. A special itinerary can be tailor-made for junior guests.

For an elevated experience, guests can choose to join specially designed activities such as Tai Chi class on the Hotel terrace or meet the Hotel’s dim sum master and taste authentic Shanghainese food in Michelin Plate Award-winning Chinese restaurant Si Ji Xuan after the Jeep tour.

“As a local Shanghainese, I am very excited to introduce this slow travel experience to our guests,” says Billy. “Shanghai is such an amazing city and full of interesting people, creative activities and attractive places. It’s now much easier to explore more the city with the vehicle and knowledgeable drivers. Guests are able to access to a protected 1920s historical villa, visit a secret craft workshop or a private talk to with the owner of art gallery.”

The Vintage Jeep tour is available at Four Seasons Hotel Shanghai; each jeep is up to four passengers with a price from CNY 2,300*(tax is not included) for three hours. Advance reservation is required, contact the hotels' friendly concierge for more details.
