Engine fire on landing on Jazeera Airways Airbus

An investigation is underway after a Jazeera Airways aircraft carrying 145 people appeared to catch fire upon landing at India's Rajiv Gandhi International Airport, Hyderabad early this morning.

According to local media reports, staff in the airport's control tower spotted what looked like a small fire in one of the aircraft's engines as it landed. They informed the pilot who shut down both engines as the fire services were scrambled to attend the plane.

The Jazeera Airways aircraft, an Airbus A320, registration 9K-CAL had just landed on flight J9608 from Kuwait Airport. The incident occurred at around 1.30am local time and the aircraft was towed to a parking stand. From what we understand, there have been no reports of any casualties among the passengers or crew.
