SriLankan Airlines boss told to resign or be ousted

The CEO of SriLankan Airlines is about the vacate the post, according to local media.  Suren Ratwatte position is untenable after the board of directors decided his services should be terminated at a special meeting on 25th January, following which they had asked him to resign.

Mr Ratwatte, however, decided to take a last minute holiday to Australia and is reported to be in the Melbourne area and has, as yet, not tended his resignation.

The directors are meeting again on 2nd February where it is believed they will decide on the exit strategy and leaving package for Ratwatte, should he not offer his resignation.  

Ratwatte had recently faced criticism of his management style, leadership qualities, decision making and alleged abuses of power from a consortium of employees, who wrote to the board to express their complete lack of confidence in the CEO.
