Hong Kong Airlines Get First A350 Plus New Routes

Hong Kong Airlines have taken delivery of the first of 21 Airbus A350-900 aircraft the airline has on order. The expanding carrier has configured the A350-900 with a comfortable three-class layout, 33 in business class, 108 in premium economy and 193 in economy class, making a total load of 334 seats.

The A350 will start earning its keep on regional routes assisting with crew familiarisation before starting on long-haul service in December this year on the airlines non-stop route to Los Angeles.

The new arrival takes the total number of airlines now flying the A350 making to 15 and with a total so far of 287 firm orders - the twin aisle super efficient jet is assured of a long and prosperous career. 

Established in 2006, Hong Kong Airlines is a full-service airline firmly rooted in Hong Kong. It has grown remarkably in just ten years with a wide destination network covering over 30 major cities across the Asia Pacific region, including Gold Coast, Auckland, Beijing, Shanghai, Taipei, Tokyo, Sapporo, Seoul, Bangkok, Bali and Okinawa, and extending its reach to North America in 2017 with the launch of Vancouver route. 

The Company has also signed agreements with 17 codeshare and 76 interline partners. The current operating fleet is made up of 33 Airbus aircraft, consisting of 29 passenger aircraft and 4 freighters. With an average age of around 5.0 years, Hong Kong Airlines operates one of the youngest fleets in the world. Hong Kong Airlines has been awarded the internationally acclaimed four-star rating from Skytrax since 2011. It was also the winner for Asia’s Leading Inflight Service in World Travel Awards 2015.


Hong Kong Airlines have also just announced that other new destinations for their new Airbus A350 fleet will include San Francisco, New York and London.
