New Delta service between Chattanooga and New York-LaGuardia nonstop from 9th July

Delta is bringing the Big Apple nonstop to Chattanooga customers, thanks to new nonstop service to be flown six times weekly beginning 9th July.
The flights will be operated by Delta Connection carrier Endeavor Air on CRJ-900 aircraft with seating for 12 in First Class, 20 in Delta Comfort+ and 44 in the main cabin. Complimentary beverages and snacks will be served and customers will have access to inflight Wi-Fi.

Hawaiian Airlines Reports February 2018 Traffic Statistics

Hawaiian Airlines, announced its system-wide traffic statistics for the month of February 2018, yesterday and they appear to be on the up.

Hawaiian welcomed more than 900 thousand guests in February 2018, a record for the month of February and an increase of 8.6 percent over the same period last year.  Total traffic (revenue passenger miles) increased 7.4 percent on an increase of 4.9 percent in capacity (available seat miles).  Load factor increased 1.9 points to 84.8 percent.

Norwegian reports 11 percent passenger growth in February

A total of 2,330,006 passengers chose to fly with Norwegian in February, an increase of 239,663 passengers from the same period last year. The total traffic growth (RPK) increased by 32 percent and the capacity growth (ASK) increased by 35 percent. The load factor was 84.3 percent, down two percentage points.

“We are pleased with the continued growthin both leisure and business passengers in February, a month traditionally characterized by less demand. The global expansion continued with the strongest growth on routes between Europe and the U.S.,”said CEO of Norwegian, Bjørn Kjos.

Norwegian operated 98.9 percent of the scheduled flights in February, whereof 74.7percent departed on time. The on-time performance was influenced bywintryconditions in Europe.

Delta to bring Cleveland, Ohio a nonstop link to its Salt Lake City hub

Delta is linking Cleveland Hopkins International Airport with a nonstop flight beginning July 8 to its Salt Lake City hub, bringing customers direct access to the great leisure and business options along Utah’s capital region and many other great one-stop onward destinations.

Salt Lake City service marks the eighth Delta nonstop destination from Cleveland, bringing an increase of Delta peak-day departures to over 40 percent and seat levels by 100 percent in the last five years.

“We are thrilled that Delta Air Lines has chosen to add to their service offerings at Cleveland Hopkins International Airport with the launch of this service,” said Robert Kennedy, Airport Director. “Daily non-stop Salt Lake City service will also provide an opportunity for travellers to connect to additional destinations on the west coast through Delta’s Salt Lake City hub, opening up more opportunities for passengers throughout Northeast Ohio.”

Pratt & Whitney Celebrates Embraer E190-E2 Aircraft Certification from ANAC, FAA and EASA

On Monday the engine maker Pratt & Whitney and Brazillian aircraft company Embraer are celebrating a significant milestone as the E190-E2 aircraft receives Type Certification from three regulatory agencies, the Agência Nacional de Aviação Civil (ANAC) in Brazil, the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and from the European Aviation Safety Administration (EASA).  The aircraft is exclusively powered by the Pratt & Whitney Geared Turbofan™ (GTF) engine and is scheduled to enter into service with Widerøe Airlines in April.

Jet Midwest, Inc. Acquires Ex-Ural Airlines A321-200 Aircraft

Jet Midwest, Inc., an aviation parts provider, is proud to announce the purchase of an Airbus A321-200 aircraft.

The ex-Ural Airlines aircraft has entered the dismantle process in Kansas City, Missouri, and is expected for completion by the end of March. All inventory, including nacelles from the CFM56-5B engine, will be available for immediate sale.

Over the past six years, Jet Midwest, Inc. has dismantled over 100 commercial aircraft, including Boeing 757 and 767, Airbus A310, A320, A321, A330, and Fokker 100 aircraft and associated engines.

Hawaiian Airlines Announce Purchase of 10 787 Dreamliners

Boeing and Hawaiian Airlines recently announced that the carrier has selected the market-leading 787 Dreamliner as its flagship aeroplane for medium to long-haul flights. As part of the selection, Hawaiian intends to purchase 10 787-9 jets valued at $2.82 billion at list prices, however, it is understood that the airline from Honolulu is getting at 28.8% per aircraft discount from list prices. as the carrier also has purchase rights for 10 additional 787s.

Farm to (Tray) Table Options Take Off on United Airlines' Spring Menu

Beginning on Thursday, United Airlines has expanded menu selections for the Snack Shop and Bistro on Board and created a brand new menu for customers flying from Canada to the U.S. Additionally, starting this summer, the exclusive vodka brand offered on all of the airline's flights worldwide will be Wheatley Vodka, a craft distilled vodka created by the same makers as the award-winning Buffalo Trace bourbon.

Sikorsky Delivers Production Number 300 S-92® Helicopter to Era Group Inc.

Sikorsky, a Lockheed Martin company delivered the 300th S-92® helicopter. Era Group Inc. signed for the aircraft, configured for offshore oil worker transportation, in a ceremony at the 2018 Helicopter Association International Heli-Expo.

This aircraft, assembled in Coatesville, Pennsylvania, will join Era Group's fleet of eight Sikorsky helicopters and enter service in March in the Gulf of Mexico.

Air Canada Named One of Canada's Best Diversity Employers for Third Consecutive Year

Air Canada has been named one of Canada's Best Diversity employers for 2018, the third consecutive year the carrier has been awarded this distinction. In naming Air Canada, Mediacorp Canada Inc. cited among other things the airline's success forming partnerships to reach diverse communities. The award is based on Mediacorp's Canada's Top 100 Employers project, which also included Air Canada for the fifth consecutive year for 2018.

Delta reports February performance

Delta Air Lines today reported operating performance for February 2018. The company carried 13.0 million passengers across its broad global network, a record for the month of February. 

Fiji Airways and Alaska Airlines Expand Partnership with Codeshare Agreement


Fiji Airways, Fiji's National Airline, and Alaska Airlines have expanded their current partnership by signing a codeshare agreement on flights from San Francisco to two popular US cities. The codeshare agreement enables Fiji Airways to place its "FJ" code on Alaska Airlines' flights from SFO to Seattle (SEA) and Portland (PDX), offering Fiji Airways guests seamless connections to these cities via San Francisco, and vice-versa for Alaska Airlines' guests. The codeshare flights will be available for sale from March 5th, 2018.


Both airlines have an existing frequent flyer partnership, where members of Alaska Airlines' Mileage Plan program earn and redeem miles for travel on "FJ" flight numbers.


Fly Leasing Limited announced this week that it has entered into a definitive agreement with AirAsia under which FLY will acquire 54 Airbus narrowbody aircraft and seven CFM engines on lease to AAB and its affiliates (the "AirAsia Group"), and one Airbus narrowbody aircraft on lease to a third-party airline.  In addition, FLY will acquire the option to purchase an additional 20 Airbus A320neo family aircraft, not subject to lease, which begin delivering from the manufacturer in 2019.
