American Airlines to offer AAdvantage members more rewards......

AAdvantage® membership is the only way to experience some of the best that American Airlines offers, and unlocks access to some of the airline’s best partner experiences

AAdvantage members continue to earn miles and Loyalty Points for everyday activities, making it easy to earn flights, customize their travel and achieve status

American introduces Loyalty Point Rewards, which members earn to unlock further benefits and choose rewards to customize their travel experience

AAdvantage members can earn new benefits and rewards before reaching status and between and beyond status levels

American Airlines continues to evolve its AAdvantage® program to deliver more value for all members throughout their journey. Members will enjoy new benefits and earn rewards before, between, and beyond status levels.

“We’re creating a more meaningful travel rewards program for our AAdvantage members,” said Vasu Raja, American’s Chief Commercial Officer. “Only our members will have access to everything American has to offer. Achieving status will unlock an even wider world of unique experiences with the airline and our partners. With these and other innovations to come, we are continuing to deliver on our commitment that travel is better when you’re an AAdvantage member.”

Introducing more AAdvantage benefits and Loyalty Point Rewards

In March 2023, American will introduce opportunities to receive benefits and earn rewards more often and give members more options to customize their travel experiences.

For example, members will unlock their first Loyalty Point Reward — formerly known as Loyalty Choice Rewards — after earning only 15,000 Loyalty Points and before reaching AAdvantage Gold® status. These members will receive the benefit of Group 5 boarding for the membership year and the choice between two Loyalty Point Rewards:

Priority check-in, security and Group 4 boarding for one trip.
Five preferred seat coupons.

As members continue to advance toward higher levels of status by earning Loyalty Points, they will receive new benefits such as Loyalty Points bonuses for shopping with some of American’s partners and status with the airline’s preferred car partner.

Unlocking AAdvantage 2023 status and more

As a reminder, Loyalty Points are all that members need to achieve status and reset each program year. AAdvantage members earn miles and Loyalty Points when they fly, use an AAdvantage credit card for purchases or engage with more than 1,000 AAdvantage partners.

Members then redeem those miles to elevate their travels and reach status and rewards through Loyalty Points.

Updating mileage earn and redemption

American is removing the previous 75,000 limit on miles that a member could earn on a single ticket, making flying with American even more rewarding. Members earn miles for flights based on the ticket price and AAdvantage status.

Also, on American and eligible partner flights, AAdvantage members will earn two miles per dollar spent on Basic Economy fares for all tickets issued on or after Jan. 1, 2023, for travel starting March 1, 2023.

Accessing everything American has to offer

AAdvantage® membership is the only way to experience some of the best that American Airlines offers and unlocks access to some of the airline’s best partner experiences. Starting in March 2023, only AAdvantage members will be able to book and redeem miles for American Airlines Vacations™ packages, which brings customers deals on flights, hotels and car rentals. Also starting March 2023, U.S. American Airlines AAdvantage® Mastercard® credit card holders can redeem miles toward Mastercard® Priceless® Experiences* such as private dinners, sporting events, food festivals, theatrical performances and so much more.

All members will continue to enjoy everyday mileage redemption opportunities. In addition to redeeming miles for flights, members can redeem miles to personalize their travel through experiences like Main Cabin Extra Seats, Five Star Service™ experience and more.

American plans to continue to create more opportunities for AAdvantage members to redeem their miles so they can personalize their travel. Members can learn more about the AAdvantage program’s evolution at aa.com/newaadvantage.

Reciprocal airport lounge benefits for top-tier loyalty members coming soon to Dubai and Toronto

The carriers recently launched a codeshare partnership providing customers with seamless connectivity to 46 destinations* across three continents

Air Canada and Emirates have expanded their partnership to offer frequent flyer members joint loyalty programme benefits. Aeroplan Members will also benefit from earning and redeeming points on all flights operated by Emirates — with access to more than 130 destinations across six continents — via the airline's home and hub, Dubai. Emirates Skywards members can now earn and redeem miles on all flights operated by Air Canada, accessing a network of more than 220 destinations worldwide.

The agreement was signed yesterday by Dr. Nejib Ben Khedher, Divisional Senior Vice President Emirates Skywards, and Mark Youssef Nasr, Senior Vice President, Product, Marketing, e-Commerce, Air Canada and President, Aeroplan, at the Emirates Group headquarters in Dubai.

Whether it's connecting friends and family from Canada's rich immigrant diaspora or it's helping travellers explore some of the world's most exciting destinations, there's something for everyone. We're proud to partner with Emirates and Skywards as Aeroplan continues to deliver on its member promise: travel more and travel better."

Dr. Nejib Ben Khedher, Divisional Senior Vice President Emirates Skywards, commented: "We're very pleased to be enhancing our partnership with Air Canada and officially kicking off our joint loyalty program offering. Together, close to 40 million frequent flyer members will be able to earn and redeem Miles across a joint network of more than 350 destinations and enjoy selected benefits such as lounge access. We look forward to opening new horizons for our loyal members and to also welcoming Aeroplan customers on-board Emirates with our award-winning products and exceptional services."

More travel choices, more Miles earned

The new agreement will enable Emirates Skywards members to earn Miles on all eligible Air Canada flights. Skywards members will also be able to redeem Miles for reward tickets across Air Canada's network. The ability to redeem Aeroplan points for flights in Emirates First Class will be introduced in early 2023.

Premium lounge access

Emirates Skywards Platinum and Gold members travelling in Economy Class with Air Canada or Emirates will also enjoy complimentary access to Air Canada's Maple Leaf Lounges and Air Canada Café at Toronto Pearson along with one guest.

In Dubai, Aeroplan Elite 50K, 75K and Super Elite members travelling in Economy Class with Emirates will enjoy complimentary access to the Emirates Business Class Lounge along with one guest. This benefit will also extend to departing Air Canada flights later in 2023 when Air Canada relocates to Terminal 3 and, until then, eligible Aeroplan Elite members will continue to have access to lounges in Terminal 1.

Access to North America, Asia, Middle East, and Africa

The carriers activated their codeshare partnership earlier this year providing customers with seamless connectivity across North America, Asia, the Middle East, and Africa. Emirates customers can now book flights to/from Canadian points beyond Toronto, including Calgary, Edmonton, Halifax, Montreal, Ottawa, and Vancouver.

Air Canada's customers also benefit from seamless access to Emirates' extensive network via Dubai, unlocking a significant number of destinations, including Colombo, Dhaka, Karachi and Lahore in the Indian subcontinent, Southeast Asian cities such as Bangkok, Hanoi, Phuket, Kuala Lumpur, and Singapore; Middle Eastern cities Jeddah and Muscat; as well as destinations in Africa, namely Addis Ababa and Dar Es Salaam.

Uber users will soon be able to collect Avios on every journey they take by car, coach or train booked via the Uber app, by simply linking their British Airways Executive Club and Uber accounts.

From later this month, Members of the airline’s loyalty programme will be eligible to collect 1 Avios for every £1 spent on any ride, whether that be by car, coach or train, booked on the Uber app in the UK. These can then be put towards worldwide flights, upgrades and extras.

To celebrate the new partnership, Members who link their Executive Club and Uber accounts via the Uber app will receive 250 bonus Avios.

Avios is a global loyalty currency used by airlines including British Airways, Iberia, Aer Lingus, Vueling and Qatar Airways. It can be collected by flying worldwide and through everyday spending, with Uber becoming the latest addition to the British Airways Executive Club to help boost travellers’ balances.

Users simply need to link their Executive Club and Uber accounts, by entering their details into the Uber app in the settings section. To sign up to the British Airways Executive Club, visit www.britishairways.com/executive-club. The Avios will then automatically appear in each Member’s account after every Uber ride.

Members can fly from as little as £1 and 18,500 Avios, which is enough for an off-peak economy return flight to more than 40 destinations in Europe.

Aeroplan launches HotelSavers, raising the bar for travel rewards yet again

Photo Aeroplan

Aeroplan, Canada's leading travel loyalty program, today launched HotelSavers, allowing members to book stays with Aeroplan points at preferential rates at a broad range of acclaimed hotels worldwide.

Members can use points to book top hotel brands worldwide with up to 30% fewer points
39 hotel brands across 11 chains to participate at launch
Another global first for Aeroplan, helping to cement its position as Canada's go-to travel rewards program for travellers—both frequent and occasional

"When Canadians want to fly on points, they can already count on Aeroplan as Aeroplan credit card holders can redeem for Air Canada flight rewards for an average of 30% fewer points than if they used points for non-Aeroplan Canadian bank-based travel programs. However, no one has focused on delivering Canadians a great hotel rewards program – that changes today. With HotelSavers, we're now offering Aeroplan members great options to book hotels using their points – without compromising the excellent value they've come to expect. HotelSavers is yet another way we're investing to solidify Aeroplan as the go-to rewards choice for all Canadians who travel," said Scott O'Leary, Vice President, Loyalty and Product at Air Canada.

Members get great value for their points with HotelSavers, thanks to Aeroplan's direct partnerships with hotels and exclusively negotiated redemption rates: savings in points are up to 30% versus non-HotelSavers hotels available on the member-exclusive reservation platform. A simple rewards grid makes it easy to know how many points you need for stays at one of eight reward categories, ranging from economy to luxury. There are stays to suit every budget, from as few as 10,000 points per night for a standard room with no restrictions on room availability.

Taxes are always included and all Aeroplan HotelSavers properties offer an option to book a refundable rate. Some HotelSavers properties also offer non-refundable options for even fewer points. Additionally, members have the option to redeem 50/50 (points plus cash) to pay for their stays.

HotelSavers is launching with 39 world-class hotel brands for redemption, including some of the world's most coveted hotels and unique properties, including:
