New à la carte stopovers in Madrid with Ibera


With the new “Stopover Hola Madrid” programme, Iberia customers from the UK flying to any of Iberia 27 destinations in the Americas or Asia via Madrid can enjoy a stopover in the Spanish capital of up to six days with no extra charge.

The “Hola Madrid” programme offers travellers from the UK to plan an “à la carte” visit to the city with discounted prices at hotels, museums, and restaurants, and also on domestic Iberia flights during the stopover.


A320neo-Iberia-MSN8221-take-off-004Iberia customers in the UK can now visit two destinations for the price of one when they fly via Madrid to any of the 27 Iberia destinations in Latin America, the US and or Asia. With the “Stopover Hola Madrid” programme they can stay from one to six nights in the Spanish capital with no additional charge. The programme can also help them plan a visit to the city, and rive them discounts for hotels, transportation to and from the airport, restaurants, museums, etc. They can make the Madrid stopover either when they are en route to or returning from their overseas destinations.

If they wish to explore more of Spain, they can get 25% discounts on domestic flights with Iberia, Iberia Express or Iberia Regional/Air Nostrum to any of the Iberia group’s 32 Spanish destinations.

METROPOLIS_MADRID GENERALCustomers who sign up for the Hola Madrid stopover programme will be given a free public transport card valid for two days. They can also  hire a car from Avis with a special discount.

The Meliá hotel chain will also give them discounts, while the reservations platform Booking will offer special conditions for Iberia Plus cardholders when they book their hotel.

“Hola Madrid” customers will get special discounts for visiting and/or having lunch at the city’s top art museums, the Prado, the Thyssen Bornemisza, and the Reina Sofía, all situated within easy walking distance of each other along the Paseo del Prado boulevard.

Free beers from La Cervecista de Mahou-San Miguel, special services in the El Corte Inglés department store, discounts on sightseeing,  dining and flamenco tours arranged by Viator, or on longer excursions with Alsa are also available under the programme.

Iberia operates currently 162 return flights each week connecting  Birmingham, London-Heathrow, London-Gatwick, Manchester, and Edinburgh with Madrid.
