Finnair cut costs by transferring Delhi route cabin service to OSM aviation

The much respected European carrier Finnair is further outsourcing cabin services to cut costs.

The latest route to be transferred away from Finnair cabin crew is the airlines Delhi service.   

Finnair has hired OSM Aviation to cover cabin services in the Delhi route from the last quarter of 2019 and in the future OSM Aviation will be the cabin service provider for the route and all service will be in English. The airline 85% of customers on the Delhi route are international.


The current cabin crew are being offered an option to transfer to OSM Aviation, which will involve a downgrade in terms, conditions and wages according to cabin crew representatives. 

OSM Aviation has been responsible for the cabin services in Finnair’s Singapore and Hong Kong routes since 2015. "Our customers have been very happy with the service quality in Singapore and Hong Kong flights and we are looking forward to enlarging our partnership in India" claims Eveliina Huurre, Vice President, Inflight Customer Service.
