Atlas Air 767 cockpit voice recorder found

The US National Transportation Safety Board has confirmed that the cockpit voice recorder of the crashed Atlas Air Boeing 767 Freighter has been recovered from the wreckage,.

The aircraft came down on February 23rd while it was performing a flight from Miami to Houston for Amazon Prime, killing all three people onboard.  The incident occurred some 26 or so miles to the southeast of George Bush airport with the aircraft crashing into Trinity Bay.

The NTSB has confirmed that the recorder has been sent to its specialist laboratory in Washington for analysis and information retrieval. It is hoped the CVR will provide much-needed information on what caused the aircraft to suddenly plunge nose first into the bay.
