American Express are bringing Centurion lounges to London Heathrow and Charlotte Douglas

American Express has announced that it plans to open the thirteenth and fourteenth locations in its signature airport lounge network, The Centurion Lounge, at London’s Heathrow Airport (Image rendering left), as well as a location in the Charlotte Douglas International Airport. 

The Centurion Lounge at Heathrow Airport will be the first location in Europe, and the second location outside of the US. Whilst the lounge at Charlotte Douglas Airport in North Carolina will be one of the largest locations in the network.

Opening in 2019, the new Centurion Lounge at Heathrow will be located post-security in Terminal 3 and span 7,000 square feet. In addition to the amenities found across other Centurion Lounge locations – such as premium showers and private noise-buffering workstations – the Centurion Lounge at Heathrow Airport will feature specially curated amenities influenced by London’s distinctive food, drinks, and design.*

In celebration of the new Centurion Lounge coming to London, Platinum Card® and Centurion® Members can get a taste of the Centurion Lounge’s premium service and amenities this holiday season at a pop-up Centurion Lounge at Unit 6, Langley Street, in London’s Covent Garden, which will be open from December 13 to December 16 from 11:00am to 6:00pm each day. A sophisticated sanctuary from the holiday hustle and bustle, the pop-up Centurion Lounge will offer complimentary bites and beverages, gift wrapping services, charging stations and family programming. The Centurion Lounge at Charlotte Douglas International Airport, North Carolina

Opening in 2020, the Centurion Lounge at Charlotte Douglas International Airport will be located post-security on the top floor of a new expansion at the intersection of Concourses D and E, near the airport’s central Atrium. Spanning more than 13,000 square feet, this location will be one of the largest in the Centurion Lounge network, and floor-to-ceiling windows will offer sweeping airfield and downtown skyline views. The new lounge will also feature the exceptional amenities found across all Centurion Lounge locations, including complimentary food and beverage from top chefs, mixologists and wine experts, a family room, premium restrooms and shower suites, access to high-speed Wi-Fi, noise-buffering workspaces and more. The Centurion Lounge at Charlotte will also lean into local food, beverage and design influences.

Current locations of The Centurion Lounge include New York’s LaGuardia Airport, Las Vegas’ McCarran International Airport, Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport, San Francisco International Airport, Miami International Airport, Seattle-Tacoma International Airport, Houston’s George Bush International Airport, Hong Kong International Airport and Philadelphia International Airport. In addition to The Centurion Lounge at Heathrow and Charlotte Douglas International Airport, American Express recently announced new locations coming to New York’s John F. Kennedy Airport, Denver International Airport and Los Angeles International Airport.

Access to The Centurion Lounge is complimentary and exclusive for Platinum Card and Centurion Members. Platinum Card Members may enter with up to two travel companions at no additional charge. Centurion Members may enter with their immediate family or up to two travel companions. Platinum Card or Centurion Members may purchase access to The Centurion Lounge for additional guests for $50 each guest.
