airBaltic to launch Riga - Stuttgart service

The expanding and well respected Latvian airline airBaltic has announcesd one of its first destinations for the summer season of 2019 earlier this week. The airline says it will start a service between Riga and Stuttgart from 31st March next year.

Martin Gauss, CEO of airBaltic said, “Stuttgart is already our sixth destination in Germany, and we are confident the direct connection will be appreciated among business and leisure travellers alike. As one of the centres of the German car industry and natural landscapes, Stuttgart offers a lot to its visitors.”


The German airport looks forward to welcoming airBaltic to its roster of airlines, as Dr Arina Freitag, Managing Director of Stuttgart Airport explains, "We are delighted to have gained airBaltic as a new carrier for Stuttgart.  Riga is a great addition to our route network, and airBaltic offers highly comfortable connecting flights e.g. into the entire Baltic States, to which the current demand has increased by an incredible 60 percent"

The route will be flown 4 times a week on an Airbus A220-300 (formerly known as a Bombardier CS300) leaving Riga at 1230 arriving in the German city at 1345 while the return departs Stuttgart at 1425 landing back in Riga 1735. The flights are scheduled to operate on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays.
