Aeroflot to axe all international flights from 8th March

The Russian airline Aeroflot will halt all scheduled international flying from next week, with the exception of flights to Belarus the airline confirmed today.
The Russian aviation agency Rosaviatsiya issued a recommendation that all Russian airlines with foreign-leased planes should suspend passenger and cargo international flights as those aircraft could be impounded following sanctions being applied.

Rosaviatsiya's comments don't apply to those Russian air carriers that operate flights with Russian aircraft, or fully Russian owned planes.

Aeroflot says passengers of international flights holding one-way tickets with departure from Russia will be admitted for carriage until the moment of flights suspension. Passengers of cancelled international flights are eligible for a full refund of tickets.

The airline is also operating a small number of international passenger repatriation flights, including today from Havana, Cuba today and Punta Cana tomorrow.

Earlier this week, Russia's largest private airline S7, said it will be stopping its international operations with effect this weekend.
