WestJet starts new service between Edmonton and Minneapolis.....

On Friday 2nd June, the Canadian airline WestJet started another new service, this time from Edmonton to Minneapolis, increasing its transborder operations as travel demand increases dramatically.

The new route from Alberta's capital to the Midwest United States and beyond via Minneapolis is part of WestJet's massive increase in transborder capacity this summer, which is up by more than 150%  

"We are thrilled to be celebrating the departure of our third of five inaugural routes from Edmonton today, signifying our expanding commitment to the capital of WestJet's home province," said Chris Avery, WestJet Vice-President, Network Planning, Alliances and Commercial Development. "Through our new service connecting Edmonton and Minneapolis, WestJet is doing our part to further enhance the economic success of the communities we serve through the implementation of strategic routes that serve to stimulate vital business and tourism opportunities."

This new non-stop route to Minneapolis is an exciting addition to the more than 50 non-stop destinations at YEG and will serve as an important connection for business, tourism and cargo," Myron Keehn, President & CEO, Edmonton International Airport (YEG).

WestJet has scheduled five weekly flights on the route this summer, with flights departing Edmonton at 09:45, and landing in Minneapolis at 13:16. The return flight departs at 14:20 and lands back at 16:14 making it convenient for both leisure and business passengers.

Modern Times offers an all-day breakfast served from 9 to 5 daily so you don't really have to rise early for the best in town. Ideal Diner
This top spot dates back to 1949, it is a historic Northeast landmark and serves a classic homestyle diner breakfast from 6am to 2pm seven days a week. Apparently the diner hasn't changed in over 70 years and is a popular choice for locals, but it is rather small to say the very least. 

The Buttered Tin
The full breakfast menu is available every day from 7am to 3pm, which includes lots of things like cinnamon rolls, cakes, pies, cookies and fresh bread.  

Nolo’s Kitchen and Bar
This North Loop cafe / bar offers breakfast 7 days a week from 8am and offers some traditional nosh like scrambled eggs and sweet stuff like French toast with salted caramel butter, or cinnamon crunch.
