Passengers flying on Covid Tested flights from New York on Delta Air Lines flight DL 118, American Airlines flight AA198, United Airlines UA809 and Emirates Airlines EK206 will be exempt from the 10 days fiduciary isolation normally requested, provided the full respect of all requirements set out in the aforementioned Ordinance.
Starting from the beginning of June, also passengers coming to Malpensa on Covid Tested flights from the United Arab Emirates on Emirates Airlines EK205 and EK091 flights and Etihad Airways EY81 e EY87 flights will be exempted from the 10 days fiduciary isolation normally requested.
Passengers willing to travel on a Covid-Tested flight have to prove at the check-in desk that they have tested negative to a rapid antigen test (RADT) performed by swab just prior to boarding at the airport of origin or that they have tested negative to a RT PCR test or rapid antigen test (RADT) performed by swab no later than 48 hours prior to boarding.
All passengers must remember that they have to fill in, before boarding, a specific digital location form, the Digital Passenger Locator Form (dPLF). Once the form has been completed and sent, the passenger will receive by e-mail the dPLF in pdf format and a QRcode, that he must present at the check-in desk before boarding.
Straight after landing in Malpensa, passengers have to take a rapid antigen test in the dedicated Area Test Covid, located exactly where passengers disembarking from extra-Schengen flights arrive (North Satellite).
Here, passengers coming from New York (both JFK and Newark), will have the possibility to take a rapid antigen test offered by the sanitary operator of Regione Lombardia, till June 30, end date of the trial for Covid Tested flights coming from New York. SEA is grateful to Regione Lombardia who is offering this service to passengers arriving in Malpensa from New York on Covid-Tested Flights.
The new Ordinance of May 14, extends the countries of origin of Covid Tested flights trial but states that the Servizio Sanitario Nazionale should not bear any additional cost. Therefore, passengers arriving from airports different from JFK or Newark will have to pay for the test (36€).
To speed up the process in Malpensa, all passengers holding an Italian Social Security Number (Codice Fiscale) can speed up the testing process at Milano Malpensa by preregistering and paying for the test in advance at this website. Preregistration must be completed before midnight (Italian time) of the day prior their departure to Malpensa. Please note that the test will be performed at Milan Malpensa Airport Terminal 1 even though on the site it is indicated Palazzo Della Salute. Passengers must book the swab on the correct day; the timeframe is not binding and it is not necessary to book a specific time of the swab. Passengers will be accepted into the area according to their actual arrival time and not according to the timeframe booked.
After performing the test, passengers have to wait for the result for maximum 30 minutes.
All passengers who receive a negative result will be free to enter our country, without carrying out any fiduciary isolation.
