East Midlands Airport-based aircraft maintenance company signs hangar lease

Aircraft maintenance and engineering specialists, BCT Aviation Maintenance, headquartered at East Midlands Airport (EMA) is expanding its operation by signing a lease on a vacant hangar.

The move to Hangar 30, which is situated on the airport’s western maintenance area, allows for a wider range of services to be carried out at EMA ranging from cabin configurations to structural metal repairs. Aircraft types that are initially approved for support are A320 Series, B737 CL, B737 NG.

Chris Taylor, GM Base Maintenance at BCT Aviation Maintenance, commented: “Our move to Hangar 30 is an extremely exciting development. To get the facility to the standard we need within the time frame available during a worldwide pandemic simply reflects the company’s dedication to making Hangar 30 a reality. I am personally immensely proud of the drive and tenacity demonstrated by everyone involved in this project.”

Phill Morris, East Midlands Airport’s Operations Director, said: “We’re delighted that BCT Aviation, which has been based at EMA for almost 13 years, is expanding and we’re pleased to support their continued growth. Serving some of the world’s largest airlines, this is an important business to have on site and is evidence of just how diverse airports are as employment sites.”

Launched in 1996 and led today by the original founding member Robert Brown, BCT Aviation Maintenance provides critical aircraft engineering support globally with stations across the UK, Europe and UAE including at East Midlands.

As an EASA Approved Part 145 certified organisation, BCT Aviation Maintenance provides a wide range of services for many types of aircraft. These include line maintenance, new livery and painting, end of lease services, managed parking and now with the addition of a hangar, base aintenance support.

East Midlands Airport and the adjacent Pegasus Business Park is home to over 90 business, employing between them 9500 people. They cover many sectors including hospitality and finance as well as those that provide direct support to the aviation sector.
