Delta’s Technical Operations team in Atlanta presented the Marine Toys for Tots Foundation 750 bikes that were donated and assembled by TechOps employees, along with a check for $50,000 from Delta.
TechOps employees raised more than $40,000 to purchase the bikes, and in addition they donated more than 1,300 toys to provide a brighter holiday for kids in Delta’s hometown of Atlanta.
This is the 16th year TechOps has held the bike drive and while the pandemic prohibited the normal gathering of employees for the presentation of the bikes, the spirit of giving still shone through as the bikes were delivered to the Marines and loaded onto trucks to be provided to Atlanta children.
Employees from across TechOps helped make the bike drive happen this year. TechOps holds fundraisers throughout the year to purchase the bikes they build for Toys for Tots. Due to the pandemic, the employees were more limited on the fundraising opportunities but were steadfast in their commitment to make the holidays special for deserving children.

It's such a proud moment to know that so many employees volunteered their time to assemble the bikes and/or gave generous donations to purchase bikes and toys,” said Mike Moore, Senior Vice President - Maintenance Operations and MRO Services Group. “This is truly the spirit of Delta TechOps.”

The Literacy Program's mission is to offer disadvantaged children the ability to compete academically and to succeed in life by providing them with books to enhance their ability to read and communicate effectively. Delta contributes $725,000 annually to Toys for Tots, and Toys for Tots toy drives are held annually in several locations in its network.
