easyJet off-loads over 300 slots at London Stansted for Summer 2021

Earlier this month budget carrier easyJet rapidly curtailed it's operation capabilities at London Stansted Airport for summer 2021, by offloading more than 300 slots.

The carrier, undergoing a major restructuring programme as it faces a leaner future as a result of the coronavirus pandemic, has done a deal with rival low-cost-carrier Ryanair to sell 312 slots a week at London Stansted for new year's peak holiday season.

Details of the swop were listed on slot administrators ACL's website, with the transaction showing as completed on 9th November.

easyJet has already confirmed the closure of the base earlier this year, however, there had been some hope the carrier was going to restart operations for the summer season next year.  Those hopes were dashed as the deal was concluded for the slot sale earlier this month. The budget carrier is running relatively low on funds and has been forced to make more cuts to stating levels and flight operation that it has first envisulised.
