Swab tests required for Air Asia China bound travellers.

AirAsia is taking all precautionary safety measures available to contain the spread of Covid-19 and requires that all AirAsia people travelling to China booked through both AirAsia and travel agents must complete a Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) Swab Test and present relevant travel documents as listed below before flying:

Before travelling to China on AirAsia: 

All passengers departing for China are required to undergo a PCR Swab Test that is certified by an approved clinic / practitioner in the jurisdiction of departure.

The PCR Swab Test is required to be done within 72 hours prior to the flight departure time.


All guests are required to carry a hard copy of the test reports/ results to be validated upon boarding at check-in gates.

Only guests with a negative test result will be allowed to check in.

The report/ test results should include the information below:

Passenger name, address and contact details

Date and time of test

Specified test for PCR Swab Test

Doctor’s details and stamp

Registration of clinic/ hospital

Contact details of clinic/ hospital

Passengers whose documents are incomplete or are not in compliance with the requirements set by local authorities and AirAsia will not be approved to travel. In addition, guests that test positive on arrival at their destination and are found to have not compiled with these measures may be held responsible under any applicable laws for any costs and expenses relating to such non-compliance.
