There are fresh doubts emerging over the ability of the Brazilian airline Gol Linhas Aereas Inteligentes long term future in the wake of the coronavirus COVID-19 crisis.
The carrier said it was expecting a warning from the independent auditors as it battles to survive the after-effects the pandemic. These so-called “going concern” warnings are used by independent auditors when, in their view, there is a substantial risk that a company may not be flying a year from now.
Other Latin American carriers have already had such warnings, including LATAM Airlines Group and Avianca, both of these carriers have filed for bankruptcy protection in the United States.
