Jet2 axes all flights to Spain

UK holiday airline Jet2 haS had to call a halt to all its Spanish bound flights.  The airline said that in response to local measures introduced throughout Spain by the Spanish authorities to prevent the spread of coronavirus COVID-19, including the closure of bars, restaurants, shops and activities including any water sports it was cancelling all flights to Mainland Spain, the Balearic Islands and the Canary Islands with immediate effect.

Jet2 says it is in the process of letting customers know the situation and asking them not to call in as the call centre is so busy at the moment.  The and as the situation is a fast-moving and complex, the carrier says, so it would be reviewing our programme as a matter of urgency so that we can fly customers back to the UK.

"The health and safety of our customers is our number one priority, and we would like to thank our customers for their understanding." the airline said in a statement.

The airline has also axed flights to and from Cyprus at the governments request as the country effectively closes its borders in an effort to curb the infection rate.
