American Airlines now believes the 737 Max wil return to revenue service in August

The US mega-carrier American Airlines has issued yet another update regarding its Boeing 737 Max aircraft that have been grounded since two fatal crashes of the type.   The airline says it remains in continuous contact with the Federal Aviation Administration, Department of Transportation and Boeing. Based on the latest guidance, American has put back the proposed restart date of the 737 Max, this time to August 18th.

American expects to gradually phase in the 737 Max for commercial service and will increase flying on the aircraft throughout the month of August and into September. Since American will gradually phase the MAX into the flying schedules, it could mean some further refinements to the timetable.
