Manston Airport planning decision deadline extended

The deadline for the decision on the proposed reopening and development of Manston Airport extended to 18 May 2020.

RiverOak Strategic Partners made an application for the reopening and development of Manston Airport in Kent back in 2018. Under sub-section 107(1) of the Planning Act 2008, the Secretary of State must make his decision within 3 months of receipt of the Examining Authority’s report unless exercising the power to extend the deadline.

The power has been used and the deadline has been extended until May this year,  which will give the government to gather further information on a range of issues to be provided by RiverOak and other interested Parties before determination of the application by the Secretary of State.
