Aeroflot opens sales for regional flights from Krasnoyarsk Airport

Aeroflot has opened sales of tickets for direct flights from the airport of Krasnoyarsk with launch destinations being Sochi, Irkutsk, Omsk, Novosibirsk, Simferopol, Ekaterinburg and Tomsk. The carrier continues to develop its route network; flights will open in the spring-summer schedule. This process is an essential part of establishing Aeroflot’s hub at Krasnoyarsk Airport.

Krasnoyarsk will be Aeroflot’s second base airport. Modern airliners Boeing 737 and Superjet 100 will be based at Krasnoyarsk Airport. Thanks to the creation of the new Krasnoyarsk hub passengers will get easy access to direct services to cities in the Urals, Siberia and the South as well as convenient connections to European Russia.

A hub in Krasnoyarsk, Siberia’s big economic and industrial centre is a pillar of Aeroflot Group’s comprehensive strategy envisaging a passenger traffic of up to 100 million people by 2023. The launch of a new regional hub will help the airline increase transit traffic on international and domestic routes and expand the route network of inter-regional regular flights bypassing Moscow in line with the President’s directive.

Aeroflot is Russia’s flagship carrier and a proud member of the SkyTeam global airline alliance. Aeroflot serves 159 destinations in 54 countries.

Aeroflot’s 249-strong fleet is the youngest of any airline worldwide that operates more than 100 aircraft. In 2018, Aeroflot carried 35.8 million passengers (55.7 million passengers as Aeroflot Group including subsidiaries).

Aeroflot holds 4-Star Airline status from Skytrax and was named Best Airline in Eastern Europe for the eighth time at the 2019 Skytrax World Airline Awards. Aeroflot has also been awarded a five-star global airline rating by US aviation association APEX. Aeroflot is the world’s strongest airline brand according to leading brand strategy consultancy Brand Finance.
