KLM and ASICS announce partnership

To mark the start of their partnership and to celebrate KLM’s 100th anniversary, KLM and ASICS today launched the special ASICS KLM100 running shoe. The first pair was officially handed to KLM President & CEO Pieter Elbers by ASICS CEO EMEA Alistair Cameron.
KLM and running
The partnership with ASICS, a highly popular running brand, is a logical step in KLM’s commitment to running. Since the end of 2018, KLM has been title sponsor of the Urban Trail Series and co-sponsor of the Dam to Dam Run and TCS Amsterdam Marathon. KLM supports running because it is healthy, easily accessible to all and an excellent way to explore the world, both close to home and during a business trip or holiday.

"Exercise makes you fitter, more energetic and happier. At work, but also in your private life. When you feel good, you can get the best out of yourself. I’m really pleased about our partnership with ASICS, which will see us inspiring our staff and customers to get physically fit, have a great experience and explore the world while running."
KLM President & CEO

"We’re really excited to partner with KLM who share our belief in the power of running to help us feel better. We want to get more people to experience the positive benefits of running to improve both physical and mental well-being. With KLM’s commitment to employee health and vitality and ASICS’ running expertise, more people will feel the difference that running can make."
Alistair Cameron, CEO EMEA ASICS

The ASICS KLM100 running shoe
The ASICS KLM100 running shoe was specially designed for KLM’s 100th anniversary by ASICS as a limited edition of 5,000 pairs, which KLM staff were allowed to pre-order. This shoe is based on the ROADHAWK FF2 model, but is rendered in KLM blue, with orange accents. As of today, the shoe will be available to the general public in limited quantities via the ASICS webshop as well as the ASICS flagship stores in Amsterdam and Rotterdam.
Staff on the move
As one of the biggest commercial employers in the Netherlands, KLM feels it is important to devote attention to health. That is why we urge our staff to keep fit by way of coaching, working and the KLM running programme. Every year, around 1,200 KLM employees take part in the Dam to Dam Run.
