For the tenth consecutive year, Finnair has been named Northern Europe’s Best Airline by Skytrax at the World Airline Awards event held today at the Paris Air Show. The World Airline Awards by Skytrax are based on an independent survey of over 21.65 million passenger entries taken between September 2018 to May 2019 and covered over 300 airlines.

“We are truly proud and honoured to receive this highly respected award for the tenth consecutive year,” said Piia Karhu, SVP, Customer Experience at Finnair. “This award is a clear demonstration of the dedicated work our team does to offer our customers a smooth and comfortable travel experience.”

Finnair has developed its services on many fronts. The roll-out of Finnair’s state-of-the-art internet connection on its European Airbus fleet is almost done. The brand-new Finnair Platinum Wing and parts of the totally renewed Finnair Business Lounge in the Helsinki Airport’s non-Schengen area are now open for customers. Finnair has also developed its digital services for customers and its mobile application has been downloaded over 1.5 million times.

"A tenth consecutive win for Finnair as the Best Airline in Northern Europe is a fantastic achievement and a very clear acknowledgement of the continued improvements that the airline is making across its network,” says Edward Plaisted, CEO of Skytrax. “The staff and management of Finnair should be proud of achieving such a high recognition this year."

The World Airline Awards by Skytrax are regarded as the primary benchmarking tool for passenger satisfaction levels of airlines throughout the world. The awards are referred to by media around the world as “the Oscars of the aviation industry”. The passenger survey analyses customer satisfaction for the overall airline passenger experience, at both the airport and on board the aircraft.
